Percy's POV
My alarm beeps loudly at 6 in the morning, and I throw a lazy hand on it. I'm not going to school today anyway.
After staying in bed for a two more hours, I get up to go downstairs. As I am getting out breakfast for both Annabeth and I, the sound of someone knocking harshly on the door echoes through the once silent house. Putting down everything, I go to the door and look through the peep hole.
Your kidding.
Maya and Regan are standing there with something in their hands. Deciding not to answer the door and pretend I'm sleeping, I go back to the kitchen. All lights are off except for that one anyway.
They continue knocking. It is quite loud I might add.
I go upstairs to check if Annabeth is still asleep, and am relieved to see her buried in the covers I put her under last night.
However, the sound echoes and I will not be surprised if she wakes up soon. Without a true choice, I go downstairs and open the dang door. "What could you possibly want at 8:30 in the morning? You should be at school," I say, annoyed. "So should you," Maya fires back. "And we're wondering if you could give this to Annabeth? I know she lives in this neighborhood, I just don't know where," she fakes her innocence.
I look at the big package stretched out in her hands.
It's probably a bomb, or some kind of weapon.
Knowing they won't leave until I take the package, I grab the 'gift'.
"Thanks! While we're here, do you mind giving us her address?" Maya asks.
I shut the door in their faces.
Not caring about the package right now, I put it on the couch and start making breakfast.
After the eggs, toast, bacon, pancakes, strawberries, and biscuits with gravy are all set out, I go back upstairs to Annabeth.
She still looks very pale, and is shaking in her sleep. I look up and see the fan is off, causing me to sigh as I sit on the edge of the bed. There's no way around it, she's sick.
Gently, I tuck some pieces of hair away from her paper white face. Deciding not to wake her up, I go back downstairs and eat my breakfast, while putting her's in a fridge.
She'll wake up eventually.
She wakes up at noon.
I was sitting in the living room reading Shakespeare, (just kidding, I was playing Call of Duty on my Xbox), when I heard someone throwing up.
Putting a book mark to mark my place, (or pausing my game), I rush upstairs to see Annabeth throwing up in the trash can I had set up for her beside her bed last night.
I pull back her gorgeous, long, blonde hair, while whispering soothing words. Once she's finished, I wipe her mouth with a wet rag and she slumps against the bed.
While setting the trash can back down, she breaks out into another round of cold sweats.
I rush over to the medicine cabinet, desperate to find a medication for her, but failing.
Mom is coming home in a week, if it's still there, she'll know what to do.
"Percy?" I hear Annabeth call. "I'm coming," I say, entering the room shortly.
Her eyes.
Her eyes say everything.
By just looking at them, I could tell how bad she felt, and how much pain she was in.
I sit on the edge of the bed and stroke her hair. "Does your head hurt?" I ask. She nods. With no hesitation, I get up and retrieve the medication for her concussion, and give her the instructed amount.
"There you go," I coo. She lays her head back on the pillow, closing her eyes. I kiss her forehead and rub her arm softly.
"This is a bad time and I'm sorry, but when you get better I wanted to know if you wanted to go get frozen yogurt as a little date thing," I nervously say.
She opens her beautiful grey eyes and stares at me for a second before nodding. I smile and lay next to her.
Annabeth begins to fall back asleep, but not before I hug her a little.
I watch as her heavy eyelids close, and her breathing becomes slow and deep.
Before realizing what's happening, I'm out too.
