Percy POV
After the rest of classes that day, I find Annabeth at our meeting place, with multiple bruises on her beautiful face.
My heart breaks for her. She stares at the ground, not looking into my eyes like she hasn't all day.
"Annabeth?" I ask while approaching her. She sits down on the floor, sitting there as I come over to her. "Hey," I say, sitting next to her.
She leans her head back on the wall. "C'mere," I open up my arms but she shakes her head. "I-I'm okay. I just want to get home," Annabeth says. I nod my head, "Then let's get home then."
Annabeth's POV
As soon as I get home, I get ready for bed. I don't care about dinner or even homework, I just want to sleep.
His mom still isn't home, so I lock the guest bedroom door and fall asleep.
