Annabeth's POV
Percy started hanging out with me more often. Nothing big, just homework and stuff like that. We've become friends, which is a step up. He's even sticking up for me now when Rachel bullies me. Also I see him shoving her off him way more often then I used to. I guess I always just assumed he liked her back and didn't see the whole picture.
A paper airplane wises by my ear causing me to snap out of my thoughts. Ugh. Busses.
Thaila started laughing, that is until she actually got hit by one. I laughed in return until I heard my name.
It was coming from Grover, Percy's best friend.
I craned my neck to listen.
"Dude, just tell her. You've done everything you can to get her to back off, she just won't get the hint until you flat out tell her."
What? He wants me to back off him. I just got close to him, and now he wants me to stay away from him.
I turn around and stop listening.
He probably turned out hating me once he started to get to know me.
I bite my lip. I don't blame him. He deserves to think like that. If that's what he wants then I'll give that to him.

I cancelled our hang out yesterday because I knew he was just going to tell me to back off. What's the point of going if I already know the message?
It's only been a day so but I already feel depressed without him. I guess I'm going to go back to my routine.
