Percy's POV

Exposed. I take back what I said about Rachel only posting pictures of Annabeth and I. Now, Instagram is flooded with pictures of Annabeth being beaten.

It has been two days and she has not gone to school. However, she has been called to the police office already. Yet, I am not the person to know how many times. We have drifted.

She left me. She separated herself from me, and the public as well.

I tried to visit her just yesterday, and she wouldn't let me see her. However, I did see her face. Or what was her face. It is covered with bruises and cuts and dried blood. Her beautiful hair was pulled at some parts are dyed a natural red from her wounds.

Everything inside me urged to enter the house and tell her everything would be okay while tending to her injuries. I couldn't. She wouldn't let me.

I want to see her again. To see the Annabeth I met on the first day. My eyes deceived me that day as they told me a broken girl was standing in front of me. Now I know, she was not broken back then, scared, yes, but not broken. She was no where near. For she is broken now, and she will not let me fix her.

I want to lay my large hand onto her shoulder and comfort her, comfort her until I cannot comfort her anymore.

My eyes see her shadow through the thick curtain, and I wish I could see her better.

But I can't.

In the beginning, I thought we were in this together. Now I see she doesn't want us to be.
