"WATCH OUT!" Joe screamed. This time, he meant those two words. Jumping out of the way, the tree fell down right where I was standing.
"(Y/N)!" Joe yelled. "ARE YOU OKAY?!" He came running towards me, pulling me close to him.
"I'm fine. Really. Just shaken." I replied. I was fine. I was just a little scared.
After Joe yelled at the guy cutting down our tree, and getting a discount on it, we took it back to the house to decorate. Joe had insisted that we get an actual tree this year.
We set the tree up in the corner of our living room. I got out the decorations and decorated the rest of the house while Joe strung the lights up on the tree. When he was done, together we decorated the tree with pretty bulbs and ornaments.
"Goooooooood tree." Joe said. He wrapped his arms around me, pulling me to him.
"It looks gorgeous." I breathed out in awe. The smell of the pine wafted to my nose, making me smile.
"Not as gorgeous as you." Joe said with a large grin on his face. I blushed furiously, blushing harder when he placed a quick kiss to my burning cheeks.
"Well, we're missing something." I stated as I pretended to scan the tree all over with my eyes.
"What are we missing? We used everything." Joe stated in confusion. After a moment, he came to a realization. "Presents!"
"Nope." I giggled. I retrieved his old chicken mask that I had stolen from the office and slipped it on top of the tree as a tree topper.
Joe began to laugh hysterically. "Seriously, (Y/N)?"
I grinned, laughing along with him. "Now it's missing presents."
Joe smiled and shook his head. He pulled me to him and kissed me softly. "Merry Christmas."
"Merry Christmas, chicken boy."
