I smiled as I looked up at the man on front of me. He grinned, cheeks blazing red. His hands were held behind his back as if hiding something from me.
"What's up, Joe?" I asked casually. I tried to peek at what was in his hands. "What do you need?"
"I have a present for you." He said sheepishly.
"But it's not Christmas yet." I said. I trained my eyes on him, smiling slightly. "Can't it wait?"
"Nope." He said. He placed a little scroll of paper tied with a nice colorful bow on my desk. Carefully, I picked it up and untied the ribbon.
I opened the scroll, revealing a beautiful portrait of me. Joe had captured every little detail of my face and hair and put it all to paper making me look like a Greek God/Goddess or something.
"Wow.... Joe this.... This is amazing..." I said breathlessly. I was in utter awe. No one had ever done something like this for me, ever.
"Merry early Christmas." Joe said, smiling brightly. His cheeks were still a bright red.
I stood up from my seat and rolled the drawing back up. I set it aside safely so I could frame it later. Carefully, I leaned over and pressed my lips to Joe's cheeks.
Or, that was my plan. He turned his head at that second so our lips met. I smiled and pulled away.
"Merry early Christmas Joseph." I said. I pecked his lips again and started walking out of my room.
"Where are you going?" He asked, walking with me.
"To get a frame for my wonderful drawing." I replied.
Joe blushed again. "I have to tell you something first." He said, wrapping his hand gently around my arm to stop me.
"What is it?" I asked. I had an idea on what he might say.
"I love you." He confessed.
I smirked and began walking back to get the frame. I turned around and smiled. "You'll just have to wait until Christmas to hear my response to that."
