I groaned as I woke up on Chrismtas morning. My head pounded, my nose was dripping snot, and my whole body ached. I sat up in bed slowly and shambled carefully into the bathroom. I looked at myself in the mirror.
My olive-ish type skin was pale, my brown hair was a mess, and my brown eyes lost their sparkle. I grabbed a hair tie and put my hair into a messy ponytail. Ugh.
I slowly walked back to bed and fell onto the bed. I felt like crap.
My phone buzzed from the bedside table. I let it ring, hoping the person would stop calling. The ringtone was giving me a headache. But the person kept calling. On the fourth time they called, I answered.
"Hello?" I sniffled.
"Ceci?" It was my boyfriend, Aleks.
"What?" I asked groggily.
"Are you alright?" He asked worriedly.
"No, I'm sick." I sighed.
"i'm coming over!" He declared. Before I could protest, I ehard the small beeping sounds on the other line. He hung up on me.
I groaned and placed my phone back on the table. I fell back into the bed and tried to go to sleep, but was awaken by the door unlocking. Aleks had a spare key to my house.
I was drifting off to sleep again, because Aleks hadn't come up the stairs to my room since the door opened. I then heard his footsteps.
"Hey, Ceci, I got you some soup. Merry Christmas," He handed me the soup as I carefully sat up. I slowly sipped my soup. Aleks sat on the bed next to me and helped me if I needed it.
"Thanks Aleks," I said in a raspy voice, resting my head on his shoulder.
"No problem, Ceci," He smiled, kissing the top of my head.
Although I'm sick on Christmas, Aleks has my back today.
