I hummed softly, placing little red bulbs on the lit Christmas tree. I felt fur rub past my leg, and I looked down to see Ein.
"Hey girl." I called sweetly, bending down to pet her. She yipped and licked my hand before running off.
I chuckled and wiped off my hand on my pants. I continued placing ornaments on the tree’s branches. The same tune I had been humming just moments before now changed to a softer one.
I felt arms wrap around me from behind. I cuddled into the body, smiling. I knew it was James.
"Hey babe." He said.
"Hey." I replied, hanging a Creeper ornament on a branch.
"Having fun?" James asked, placing a quick kiss to my cheek.
"It’d be more fun if my boyfriend would help me." I replied.
"It looks like you got it." He chuckled playfully. He removed his arms from around me and stepped back, plopping down on the couch.
I pouted, crossing my arms over my chest. “Help me.”
James chuckled and stood up. He kissed me softly before grabbing a box of assorted, colorful ornaments. He began hanging them up, making the tree more beautiful.
I smiled and leaned into him, looking at the Christmas tree we had decorated. James wrapped an arm around me, and kissed the top of my head. This was going to be a wonderful holiday.
