I cleaned up all of the wrapping paper from the Creatures gift exchange. I had gotten everything I had wanted for the most part. Except, my boyfriend, Aleks, hadn’t gotten me anything yet.
"Ready to go home, babe?" I asked Aleks.
"Oh, uh, actually, James is gonna take you home for me." Aleks told me. "I have to stay behind here for a bit."
I frowned. Really? It was Christmas Eve. Jordan wouldn’t make Aleks stay behind.
I sighed and nodded my head. I decided that arguing with him would make things worse. I followed James out to his car and got a ride home.
I walked inside and turned on the lights. I was too upset and exhausted for anything, so I quickly took a shower and got ready for bed.

I woke up in the morning to something extremely soft nuzzling my cheek. I opened up my eyes to see a fluffy kitten by my face.
The kitten was white and fluffy with gorgeous, wide blue eyes. She mewed softly at me and sniffed my nose.
"Merry Christmas." Aleks mumbled from next to me. A smile rested on his lips as he wrapped an arm around me and drew me and the kitty closer to him.
