The Santa Clause movie played on the TV in front of me. I could smell cookies baking in the kitchen, the smell wafting down to the basement. I could hear footsteps coming, knowing they were my boyfriend's.
Ze silently placed a cup of steaming hot chocolate in front of me. He placed his cup next to mine and sat down next to me. He pulled a warm, checkered blanket from the back of the couch and draped it over the both of us.
"What movie are we watching?" He asked softly as he wrapped an arm around me. He used his other arm to retrieve his cup of cocoa and drink it.
"The Santa Clause." I replied. I softly blew on my cocoa before taking a sip. "This is good."
"The one with Tim Allen?" Ze asked. "And thanks."
I nodded my head as both to answer his question and say he was welcome for the compliment. It really was good hot chocolate.
"Is your mom making cookies?" I asked, once again getting a whiff of the delicious treats.
"Yeah, her and my sister." Steven replied. He leaned down and kissed the top of my head, smiling softly.
"Yummy!" I grinned. I kissed his red nose and turned back to the TV. I watched Tim Allen run around as Santa Clause.
"You know, I'm really glad you're with me." He said softly, pulling me against him. I nestled my head against his chest, smiling at the warmth I was getting.
"I'm glad, too. I enjoy your family. Besides, I love you. There's no where else I'd rather be." I told him, snuggling deeper into him and his warmth.
"I love you, too." Ze said, holding me a but tighter. Throughout the rest of the day, we watched Christmas movies and drank our hot chocolate. At some point, Steven's sister let us come help frost the dozens and dozens of cookies she made. We were also allowed to help our selves to them, which we gladly did.
"Merry Christmas, (Y/N)." Ze said, kissing my cheek. A look at the clock told me it was now officially Christmas day.
"Merry Christmas, Ze." I giggled, pecking his lips.
