Enchanted (Part 2)

I rushed into the glass building of my office and saw the lift had not left yet. Still running I got in panting and a few people let out 'hmphs'.

After barely sleeping last night as I was too busy fantasizing about a stranger and myself I got up late and hence the running.

And the fact that I still didn't get my morning cup of coffee made things only worse.

When the lift finally reached the 18th floor which was my floor I walked in my office.

"Morning Dan" my friend Louise said.

"Good morning Louise" I said with a smile.

"So how was my last night?" she asked me.

"Good" I said with a big smile.

"Good huh"

"Yeah" I said not meeting not her eyes.

"Dan did you have sex last night?"

"Jesus Christ Louise" I said. "No of course not"

"Then why are you so happy?" she asked me suspiciously.

"God I can't even smile anymore without you thinking I hooked up with someone"

"I know you quite well Dan, you always hate those parties but today you told me it was 'good' which means something happened"

"Okay fine" I said with a sigh. "I met this cute guy and we talked"

"And?"

"And he is here" I said my eyes widening as I saw Phil coming out of Charlie's cabin. He stopped again as Charlie came out and they were laughing together.

"Where?" Louis asked turning back. "Oh my god"

"What?" I asked her.

"Isn't that Phil Lester? He is some big lawyer or something"

"What?" I said shocked.

"Yeah. He is" she said. "Oh my god he is coming here"

Sure enough Phil was walking towards me. Louise immediately left my side and sat down in her cubicle while I stood frozen on my spot. My heart was torn in between hoping that Phil would see me or either walk away without even noticing me. I didn't know what alternative was better.

But of course he spotted me and he smiled at me waving.

"Danny" he said. "What a pleasant surprise"

I had completely forgotten that Phil had given me a nickname last night and I swear I heard Louise giggle behind me. She was going to forever tease me about it and would probably tell Zoe and Cat too.

"Hi" I said. "Good morning"

"Morning. How are you?"

"I am good" I said nervously. "How about you?"

"I am good too. Why are you nervous?"

Of course he noticed.

"I am not" I said with an awkward chuckle.

Phil smiled. 

"I guess it's my fault that you are shocked to find me here. I never told you that I was a lawyer too. I know Charlie quite well and he says you are quite amazing yourself"

"I am not that good" I said.

"You are so modest" he said and I shyly smiled while blushing. "And still blushing like last night"

"I am not" I said only turning more red which made Phil laugh.

"I am in the area today. Maybe we could catch up for lunch or something" he said.
