"Movie night" Phil yelled out as Dan stood in the kitchen waiting for the last of the kernels to pop in the microwave.

"I know babe" Dan said as he came in the lounge holding a large bowl of popcorn in his hand.

"Popcorn" Phil said with a grin as he scooped a handful and put it in his mouth.

Dan couldn't help but smile at his adorable boyfriend as he went in the kitchen again and got some Maltesers for himself and grabbed a duvet from their bedroom.

He sat down next to Phil and snuggled closer to him as it was a little bit cold today due to the continuous rain and Phil provided him with warmth. Phil smiled at the younger boy and wrapped the duvet around each other to keep them warm and toasty.

"What movie have you picked?" Dan asked his boyfriend.

"The Conjuring" Phil smiled.

"What? No" Dan said loudly. "It would be really scary"

Phil laughed.

"It will be fine, not scary at all besides I am here" Phil assured Dan and pushed his hair back to kiss his forehead.

Dan just nodded though he didn't believe Phil as he always got very scared of any sort of horror movie even the ones that weren't really that scary because he feared the supernatural even though he didn't necessary believe they existed. He came closer to Phil and rested his head on his shoulder as Phil started the movie.

It was scary and Dan was shaking in fear holding Phil's hands tightly when a particularly scary part came on and Phil would quietly rub circles on his back or kiss his head as he knew it would instantly make Dan feel much better.

But the worst part of the night was not until the first thunder struck making Dan jump yelling out loudly. Dan was scared of thunders and lightning - astrophobia. And it wasn't really mild. It was a deep fear that would keep him up all night shaking at the very least sound.

"Shush shush honey" Phil whispered into Dan's years. "It's okay, I am here"

Just then another thunder struck making Dan shake very much in fear. Phil pulled the boy in a protective embrace as if to shield him away from everything. Dan felt slightly less terrified in Phil's arms as he covered his ears.

But it was a thunderstorm and it wasn't going to stop that easily.

Another thunder loudest of all struck and Dan let out another yell. Phil pulled Dan into his lap holding him even tighter and rubbing circles on his back.

"It's okay. There is no reason to be scared" Phil whispered into Dan's ears.

Dan nodded as he rested his head onto the crook of Phil's neck. It was terrifying but Phil's presence was very comforting for him and made him feel slightly safer.

The next thunder was less loud than the others and Dan didn't jump violently like before. His heart was still beating loudly in his chest. It was going to be a long night.

"I think I should change the movie" Phil said reaching for the remote. "What do you wanna watch babe?"

"Nothing" Dan said quietly.

"Okay" Phil said just switching off the TV.

A particularly loud thunder followed and Phil was trying hard to calm down Dan as he was shaking too much and no amounts of affectionate gestures were helping the poor boy.

"Do you want to sleep, maybe?" Phil asked ruffling Dan's whisper.

"I won't be able to shut my eyes" Dan said.

"We can try maybe" Phil said.

Dan muttered okay. Phil smiled as he helped Dan get off his lap as they stood up. Phil protectively wrapped his hand around Dan's waist and walked to their bedroom.

As if things couldn't get any worse the lights went out all of a sudden followed by a thunder which made Dan fall on the floor as he had slipped.

"PHIL" Dan screamed shaking. "PHIL"

"Dan calm down, calm down .I'm right here" Phil said reaching out for Dan which was impossible as it was too dark to see a thing.

Another thunder echoed and Phil heard Dan's sobs. Then he thought about the light from his phone and he took out it illuminating the room with it and saw Dan rolled up on the ground sobbing quietly.

Phil leant down immediately.

"Dan, are you all right?" Phil asked.

Dan just whimpered slightly.

Phil took him in his arms carrying him into their bedroom and made him lie down on the bed before lying down beside him and cuddling with him stroking his cheek and kissing him.

"Dan what can I do to make you feel better?" Phil asked.

Dan smiled slightly.

"Can you sing me a song?"

"A song" Phil spluttered as it was the last thing he had expected Dan would demand.

Dan nodded still smiling but the smile soon faded as he moved closer to Phil's chest for another thunder roared but this time he didn't jump nor did he yell out.

"What can I sing?" Phil asked.

"Anything you want to" Dan said. "I love listening to your voice"

Phil cleared his throat and began singing 'Toxic' and Dan chuckled.

"What? You said any song is fine" Phil exclaimed.

"Of course it is" Dan said. "I love it"

Phil blushed slightly grateful that Dan couldn't see it in the dark as he continued singing.

When the next thunder came Dan was much calmer as Phil's voice echoed through the dark empty room his head rested on Phil's chest.

After an hour of more shaking and Phil calming Dan the lights came back and Dan grinned at Phil which meant that the threat of the thunder and lightning was finally over.

Dan sat up and hugged Phil tightly.

"Thank you so much Philly" he said. "For putting up with all my freaking out"

"Anything for my little bear" Phil said as he leaned in and kissed Dan's lips and his nose.

"I love you so much" Dan said.

"I love you too" Phil said."Now let's finish the movie shall we?"

Dan nodded smiling as the thought of watching the horror movie was quite less terrifying than facing another one of those thunderstorms.
