A trip is always exciting, trust me, especially when its a camping trip; for school.
This chapter is just a little something extra I am including about my four-day grade eight, end of the year trip. This will have activities we did, some inside on our cabins, and some cool things we did, as always, all names are fake, therefore all individuals are protected.
Tuesday, June 18th,
I had to wake up just before 5, which kind of sucked, but I knew we had to leave the school by 7:30. Finishing my packing, and getting myself ready, I waited for my Dad to get home to take me to school. Upon getting there, I couldn't help but notice that I was really the only student hugging and saying goodbye repetitively to my Dad.
Everyone seemed to want their parents to leave, as if they were embarrassed by them, if I really think about it, maybe they were. I wasn't, I hugged my Dad and said good-bye about four times.
On the bus, Mary and I sat together until the rest stop, after two hours, then she went and sat with Ricky. The whole four hour trip seemed to fly by, considering of two buses, all the teachers and annoying boys went on the other bus. Our bus sang songs and talked the whole way. Even our bus driver enjoyed it.
When we got to camp, we got our counselors, mine was Shire, and we got a small tour around camp after dropping off our stuff at our half of the cabin (the other 9 girls from our school had the other half). We then had lunch, and played a survival game, of which I was a herbivore, I'm always a herbivore in these kinds of games.
I was pretty sneaky though, I ran out of life tags and had to get a another one from Mother Nature, after that, if anyone asked if I had any, I just shrugged, since my fist was around the tag, no one could see it. I real predator wouldn't ask.
I went very ninja, even if I didn't get all the food and water and stuff, it was awesome that I was able to outrun a bunch of boys..
We then went to the beach to do swim tests, I did it, and the water was freezing! Mary didn't, and since you only had to do it if you planned on going swimming at any point, she didn't have to. Afterwards, we hung out until we had to go back on the bus. Both times we got the bus with the fun, singing counselors.
Dinner followed, and then we played a giant game of capture the flag, girl campers and male staff, against boy campers and female staff. It was all muddy, and we had the bad side, but even still, the boys crushed us. It sucked.
Campfire was our final activity of the night, and it was fun, we all sang songs, and everyone loved this one song "I'm going to be a Pizza Man!" Its a repeat after me song (after me song).
When campfire was done, we all went to the flag pole (where we met every time the bell rings and for meetings and what not) and crossed our arms, and linked hands. Then sang the closing song (There were songs for every meal as well).
The night was so clear, and while all three of our nights there were, this was the clearest, and quietest, and it was just perfect! Our voices echoed and it was almost like a dream or something.
Wednesday, June 19th,
We woke up at just before 6:45, because our days were long (from 6:45am to 10:30pm), and we had until 7 to get ready and get to the flag pole. It wasn't nearly enough, considering there were only 2 bathrooms (8 toilets, 8 showers, and 10 sinks) between over 50 girls! Some of them would get up at 6:30 just to have time.
Before breakfast we would have an activity, and this morning I chose Yoga, it was actually really fun, and I actually knew some of the positions already because I had a yoga book at home!
