Wednesday, June 26th,

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, that's what we are told, but I think that everyone at our graduation all looked their best. Everyone shined, no girl looked exactly the same, and no guy, even with their suits, outdid each other. It was magical.

(PS, I feel really corny because of that up there.)

Today was the day, the day we go through Elementary school for, to get our certificate that tells us we are able to go to high school, even through you can't fail Elementary school. I'm sure some people will get a real wake up call in 2 months...

Anyhow, I wasn't suppose to got to school at all today, because I was going to be getting my nails and such done, but then I had to come in the morning because it's our rehearsal! It completely wrecked my Mom's plans for us to have a girls day!

The rehearsal went quickly enough, then we all got pizza from Mrs. C for volunteering at Spirit day. Then my Mom came, and we left to do some shopping, then get my hair done, as I got my nails done yesterday after school.

I felt like a princess in my complete dress! My entire outfit was gold and black, even my cat ears that I had gotten for my hair, was gold! My necklace and earrings changed colours between gold and bluish-purple! Unfortunately, I could only wear a short, black heel, because I'm already taller then almost everyone else (it's sad, I was even taller then some of the girls in their heels).

We got there at 6 and all the girls were standing around and all thought I was so pretty, they thought most of the girls looked pretty! I couldn't help but agree, we did all look rather nice! After a few minutes of looking around at the pretty decorations (our theme was Shooting Stars; red, white and gold stars), we all went outside for the group pictures.

The ones in front of the school were fine, but then we went out, and always the photographer wanted to do pictures where we looked into the sun..... find the one thing wrong with that sentence...

If you picked "looked into the sun" you're right.

I literally had tears rolling down my face, any other time, I would have been okay, but I pretty much started having a panic attack because I didn't want my makeup to get wrecked. Then when we got inside, I had to trust the other girls who told me I looked fine because my Mom had already taken her seat. (I was later told I had the gold sparkles from my dress on my face because they were on my hands when I put my hands to my face. I was assured it looked fine.)

We began our walk down the red carpet, and took our seats. I was in the upper back row. We remained standing to sing our national anthem, and then sat, it was time for us to get our certificates and plaques stating we could go to secondary school.

Once finished getting these important details, we were to find out who got the Principals Honour Roll (given to students who achieve 80% or higher in almost all their class'). I was freaking out because I wanted to get it, but wasn't sure if I would, and then they called my name!

I had gotten Honours! I breathed the biggest sigh of relief, if that's possible!

Then, it was probably the moment I was waiting for the most, it was time to see who got which awards! I was freaking out even more about getting one of the two that I really wanted, than I had been about getting honours. The first one came up; the Music award. I held my breath, and then they called Ashlen's name.

I paused for a moment, then clapped and smiled like I had for every other person who had gone up on stage. I had figured it was between her and I for the award anyway.

After two more awards, the French award came up, I was surprised that Madame wasn't giving it out, but wasn't about to worry about it, because they called my name! I had gotten the French Award! It was an amazing feeling, I love French and I got the award that pretty much proved I was the best in it!

A few more awards went by, and they came to the General Proficiency Award, the award that is given to the student with the highest average in our entire graduating class. I called that it would be Evan K, I mean, he is a workaholic in this kind of stuff, he would have cried if he didn't get it.

I don't think he expected he wouldn't be the only one getting it....

Not only did Evan K get the General Proficiency Award, but I did also, meaning our averages were so close that they couldn't give it to one or the other. I was pretty surprised as well to say the least.

The last thing we did before finishing our ceremony, was the song we had only decided this morning we would do; "I'm going to be a Pizza Man," you know, from camp. I had asked to be the person leading it, and then it was just going to be Mels and me. Somehow by the time we presented, it wasn't just Mels and I, it was also Ashlen and Lexi.

We had a little time before the dance started to just talk to parents and stuff, I got congratulated by my family (I got flowers), and some teachers (I got a card from Madame and a hug). Then the dance started, as such, the first dance, a slow song, was reserved for family, I danced with my Dad, and I couldn't help but notice how awkward some of the girls- and even boys- were with their parents. It was ridiculous, I mean, they acted like it was gross to touch their relatives.

They disgust me. I love my family with all my heart, I would never do that.

Our dance went from 9 or so to 10:30, but it seemed to go much faster. I was acting all goofy, and even got Mary and Ricky to dance with each other! Then Summer and Ricky tried to get Evan V and I to dance, but I got out of Summer's grip (just because I had no traction on my shoes, doesn't mean she's not afraid of being elbowed!). I then had to save Evan V (by grabbing Ricky's arms while he was leaning back, forcing him to let go of Evan V) for fear of being put back in that predicament.

In the middle of the dance Cameron left, and Mary, Lexi, and I all went to say good-bye, because he would only be coming in to get his report card tomorrow. I wasn't surprised when he hugged Lexi (apparently he told her he liked her, and she pretty much didn't give him an answer), or when he hugged Mary (lets face it, he asked her out too), I was surprised however, when he hugged me. Maybe he has changed...

I told I'll truly miss him, because it's not like we will have any of the same class' in high school next year (I'm taking Academic everything, and I'm pretty sure he is taking Applied everything). He answered saying he would still find time to pick on me... I still think he has changed, that's just Cameron being Cameron.

Everyone was trailing Cameron out, because someone thought they saw him crying as he walked by, I felt so bad for him! Why couldn't anyone leave him alone, I'm sure it would suck not seeing all the people you had known forever until high school, and maybe not even then.

We went outside a little, but it was really hot, so went back inside to wait to get picked up.

When my Dad picked me up, I showed him how we got a candy buffet! I already know my sour keys won't be mine for long. Once we got home, I got to open my Graduation presents! I figured I already knew what I got; I had asked for a laptop.

However, I was told to open a small box, which had a little note inside, telling me to look behind the couch, and sure enough, there was a computer box! It is totally awesome, it has touch screen and everything! Amy even gave me something, some cloths, an umbrella, all in blue I must add, and a lamp that looks like a chandelier! I was going to get a chandelier in my room, but we weren't able to, so this is perfect.

Next we had the After Party, which was held at Dylan's house. I pretty much hung with my parents, who were chaperone's, because the pool was too crowded. I talked to Mary a little bit, but pretty much avoided the other grade eights, especially once they decided to cake (or rather cupcake) each other... No way was I getting involved in that.

As you can tell, it was a very emotional time.
