I Want Crazy (Part 2)

As Sarah walked back to her work area she could feel how warm her cheeks are, even when the airconditioning in their office was in full blast. She said to herself, "Bwisit na 'yon! Talagang i-put on the spot daw ba ako. At akala ba n'ya gwapo s'ya? Wala pa s'ya sa kalingkingan ni Ge 'no. Ilong palang eh wala na s'yang panama. Ang kapal talaga!"

She placed her laptop on her desk and opened it. She was surprised to see an email from Adam, which read: I'm sorry if I embarrassed you. I didn't mean to but I'm serious about what I asked you. She replied with: And I'm serious about my answer. Her office phone then rang. "Good afternoon. This is Sarah speaking. How may I help you?"

"Ms. Sarah, the applicants are all here. Are you ready to start with the interviews?" the girl on the other line said.

"Sige, okay na."

The interviews went on for an hour or so. Right before she was finished interviewing the last applicant, she saw all the trainees pass by her cubicle. "Thank you Paolo. Our Human Resources will just get in touch with you regarding the result of your application," she said a few minutes later.

"Thank you ma'am."

She sat back and slumped on her chair after the applicant left her area. She was deep in thought when she heard a female's voice. "And this is Ms. Sarah-the-beautiful's area. Hi Ms. Sarah. I'm giving the trainees a tour of the office."

Sarah sat straight up and gave them her warmest smile. "Hello again guys."

"Hi Ms. Sarah!" the trainees said in unison.

"Ms. Sarah, we're going out for dinner later together with some of the bosses. Why don't you join us," Adam said.

"'Eto na naman po si Mr. Mabilis," another said.

"Thank you for the invitation. Kayo na lang. I may need to stay after office to finish some work."

"Sige na, sama ka na. Minsan lang kami nandito sa Manila," Adam countered.

"Kung gusto n'yong pilitin 'yang si Ms. Sarah, let Sir Gerald do it. Bestfriends 'yang dalawang 'yan. Sigurado akong hindi tatanggi yan kay sir," the HR Assistant said.

Everyone looked at Gerald and he looked back at them.

"Sige na pare, ayain mo na 'tong si Ms. Sarah para mas masaya," one of them said.

"Alam n'yo sasama lang 'yan kung alam n'yang hindi n'yo s'ya pagtitripan," Gerald replied.

"I will behave I promise," Adam immediately said while looking at her.

Gerald shrugged and looked at Sarah as if saying there's nothing more he could do. Sarah just stared back at him.

"Alam ko na. Iwan muna natin si Sir Gerald dito para ma-convince n'ya si Ms. Sarah. The rest of you sama muna kayo sa akin. Pumunta muna tayo sa office ni Sir Gabby," the HR Assistant said.

It didn't take long before her visitors left her area. Gerald on the other hand sat on her visitor's chair. "It's up to you. I wouldn't do much convincing kung alam kong ayaw mo naman. But if you ask me, I'd want you to come with us kahit na alam kong kasama si Adam. Gusto ko s'yang suntukin kanina for putting you on the spot like that."

"Suntukin talaga Ge?" she asked with a smile.

"Oo naman."

"Eh bakit gusto mo pa akong sumama kung mukhang ayaw mo naman akong lapitan ni Adam?"

"I miss you," he softly said.

"Ha? Hindi ko narinig," she teased.

"Sabi ko namiss kita. Chance ko na ito to hang out with you again kahit na kasama pa si Adam."
