Angels Part 7

DAY 21:

Allison got a call from her dad a few days later, asking her to come over. She was hesitant at first, but then decided that she would just go. When she got there her father was waiting with the door open. She quickly walked inside, trying to get out of the bitter cold, and took a seat on the couch.

"Let me start by saying I'm sorry." Chris started softly. "I guess the fact that you actually gave up your wings and decided to come down here and raise your family with Scott made bitter memories of your mother come to the surface. I just...... I'm upset that she didn't want to stay with me, but now I have you and Peter, so its okay." Chris sighed.

"I'm sorry too, I shouldn't have just sprung it on you like that. I love you dad, I don't blame you either." Allison said as she stood up and pulled her father into a hug. She heard him sniffel and laughed. She pulled away and smiled at him. "Don't start crying dad, then I'll start crying!" She said as she playfully hit his arm. Chris laughed.

"So.... I'm going to be a grandpa!" He exclaimed as he pulled her into another hug and gave a wet chuckle. Allison teared up a bit.

"And I'm going to be a mom." She whispered. Chris pulled away and wiped the tears that she didn't even know began to fall down her cheeks.

"Hey, don't you worry. You're going to be an amazing mother." He smiled. She smiled back at him.

And Chris was right. As Allison laid in her hospital bed after having her daughter Alexis Victoria McCall, a shiny silver band on her left ring finger, she knew that she and Scott were going to be the best parents that this little girl could ever have. She smiled down at her daughter, Scott asleep next to her in an armchair the hospital provided for new father's, and she just knew.

"We love you Lexi." She said softly as she ran her finger down Alexis's baby soft cheek (lol cause she's a baby) and kissed her forehead. "Happy birthday honey, grandma's the luckiest grandma in the world to share a birthday with you."
