"Oh shit." Scott gasped. Alexis was still looking up at him, but she didn't seem like she wanted to attack anything at all. Her eyes were glassy, almost as if she were going to- tears were already falling down her cheeks! Scott didn't know if it was from his reaction or something.
"Scott, please. I know you're a werewolf, please help me control it. I can't ever seem to control it." Alexis gasped out. Her voice sounding just as strangled as her groans eariler and muffled by her fangs. Scott jumped into action at this.
"Okay Alexis. I need you to take deep breaths and think of something that ground you. Something you'd be willing to keep you humanity for." Scott said as he kneeled in front of her. She was shaking, almost as if she were restraining herself from doing anything but sitting there. Scott watched her take deep breaths, her eyes closing as she tried to focus.
Her eyes snapped open once again, more tears falling. "Scott, I can't." she cried. "I can't think of anything."
"When I was your age I was a freshly bitten werewolf with an absolute mess for a teacher and a crazy alpha constantly breathing down my neck trying to get me to kill people. I couldn't control myself on the full moons either. I always had a hard time, but eventually, I found something to ground me. All you need is an anchor Alexis." Scott explained. He reached out slowly and took her clawed hands.
"W-What was your anchor?" Alexis asked as she began to calm down.
"For a while, it was your mom. Then she broke up with me and I was devestated. So my mom talked some sense into me. I found out that my anchor was love in general. Love for my friends and family, my need to protect them and keep them safe. That drove me not to wolf out on the full moons because I knew that I needed to protect those people from myself. I couldn't lost control." Scott said.
"I think I found my anchor." Alexis whispered. She had had her eyes closed throughout the small story, but now that she opened them again, that were that same beautiful shade of brown as her mothers.
"Can you tell me what it is?" Scott asked. Alexis smiled.
"Love works for me too." she smiled. Scott smiled back at her, proud that he could help her through this small crisis. Scott sat down fully now, suddenly curious.
"Did Allison ever tell you who your father was. I know you grew up away from Beacon Hills, but you had to be curious about who your dad was. Did you ever ask her?" Scott asked. Alexis looked at his softly, almost like she was finally starting to come around.
"I thought you knew. Mom said she told everyone." Alexis said quietly, trying not to break their soft moment.
"Its Isaac, isn't it?" Scott asked sadly. Alexis laughed.
"God no. I look more like you then uncle Isaac. You should have gotten it from the start. You're my dad." Alexis answered. Scott was surprised. He really had wondered, but he hadn't wanted to assume and get his hopes crushed if he was wrong.
"I-I really am your dad?" Scott asked. Alexis smiled and nodded.
"Yeah, you really are. I was always upset that you weren't in my life. Mom always explained that she left you, not the other way around. But I was upset that you weren't there and I was left with these stupid werewolf powers without the person who gave them to me there to show me how to even use them. I get it now though. You had no idea I even exsisted." Alexis let out a watery laugh.
They sat there in silence for a few moments. Scott taking everything in and Alexis basking in the feeling of actually having her dad there to be her dad. Scott suddenly leaned in and pulled her in for a hug. Alexis could feel his tears falling onto her shoulder, which in turn made her cry as well.
"Am I allowed to call you dad?" Alexis gasped out through her tears. Scott laughed.
"Only if I'm allowed to call you my daughter." Scott countered.
"Deal."
When Allison got back the next day, she was surprised to find Scott and Alexis passed out on the couch together surronded in boxes of finished chinese take out. Alexis was in her favorite fuzzy pajamas that she only wore when she was upset, and Scott was wrapped around her protectivley. Allison smiled but at the same time she wondered what had caused this changed.
"Oh, you're back." Scott whispered. Allison jumped and looked at Scott again who was now awake and sitting upright.
"Yeah. What happened last night? Alexis seems a ton more comfortable with you now." Allison said as she set down her things and shut and locked the door.
"She told me that I was her father." Scott replied. He walked Allison into the kitchen. "Were you ever going to tell me?"
"Eventually, when I felt the time was right." Allison sighed.
"Are you willing to try an be a family?" Scott asked. Allison looked at him, shocked. She honestly thought her chance was over after she kept this information from him.
"Do you really mean that?" She asked. Soctt nodded. "Yes, I am."
"Let's start slow then. Will you be my girlfriend?" Scott asked.
"You better say yes mom!" Alexis called from the living room.
"Shut up Alexis." Allison called back. She looked at Scott. "Yes."
"Great." Scott smiled. Everything was going to be okay because they were going to be a family again. And that's really what they all needed.
