Allison stepped out of her parents car and took a good look at her new house. She still didn't know why they had to move here.

"What do you think?" Chris asked with a large smile on his face. Allison's face scrunched up in distaste.

"I liked our old house better." She said as she grabbed her bag from the back of the car. "I'm going for a walk." Allison said as she put her ear buds in and started off in the direction of the woods. Chris watched her go with a frown.

"She's definitely your daughter Victoria." He called as he grabbed some boxes out of the back of the car and brought them inside.

Allison walked until she came up to a dock. No one was around and there were no boats out on the water. She took a seet at the end of the dock and laid back to stare at the clouds. There was a loud splash off to her right. She shot up and looked around. There wasn't anything sticking out if the water. She looked closer, her hunting skills kicking in as her eye's scanned the water.

She and her family were Mermaid/Merman hunters. When it came to searching the water, she was highly vigilant . Her father said she was an amazing hunter and had the perfect eye's for it. She didn't see anything so she laid back down. Then off to her left she heard the sound again. This time she stayed lying back. She heard it a few more times before she finally shot up at the right time and caught a tan boy who had his head out of the water and was staring at her. She pulled her ear buds out.

"Ahah! Caught you!" She exclaimed as she pointed at him. He looked at her with wide eye's before ducking back under water. "Wait! Don't leave." She said softly. A few seconds later the boy popped his head back above water.

"What are you doing out here?" He asked softly. His puppy dog brown eye's wide. "Nobody ever comes out to this part of the water." He said.

"I just moved here, I didn't know." Allison answered. "Why doesn't anyone come out to this part of the water?" She asked. The boy shrugged.

"They've seen things, everybody around town is scared to come down, says there's a sea monster." The boy answered. Allison nodded.

"I'm Allison. What's your name?" She asked as she held her hand out. The boy hesitantly swam forward and shook her hand.

"Scott. Why aren't you scared of me?" He asked.

"Don't freak out." Allison said. Scott nodded. "My family hunts Merpeople." Allison said softly. Scott's eye's widened and he swam back a bit. "No! Don't be afraid. I promise I won't hurt you. Just, well if you see an older man who looks kind of like me, don't come above water." Allison warned. "Once he thinks the waters here are clear he won't come back."

"Okay." Scott said with a sigh of relief.

"Does anybody else know about you?" Allison asked softly.

"Yeah, a boy named Stiles. He's a Durid. He says that there are a few werewolves here as well, and a Banshee." Scott said as he put his arms on the dock and rested his head on the dock. They talked for a few more hours until the sun started to set and Allison said she had to get home before her father came looking for her.

"See you soon." Allison promised as she waved. Scott waved back and went back under water.

When Allison started at Beacon Hills high school, she sort of hated it. She had been there a week already and everybody was still giving her weird looks and whispering when she walked by. She was stitting at lunch alone when a pale, lanky boy, covered in moles with a buzz cut walked up to her table.

"Is this seat taken?" He asked softly. Allison looked up with a smile.

"No." She said. The boy smiled in return as he set down his tray and took a seat across from Allison.

"I'm Stiles." He said as he stuck his hand out. Allison noted that Scott had said his Durid friend was named Stiles.

"Allison." She said as she took his hand. "Scott mentioned you." Allison said softly. Stiles looked at her with wide eye's. "Don't worry, I'm not going to say anything. My family, we hunt Merpeople, but I warned Scott that if he saw my father to say under water." Allison said.

"Thank you. For a while I didn't have any friend's so I went down to that dock, one day Scott was there, we started talking and became best friends." Stiles explained.

"Scott said you were a Durid." Allison said softly. Stiles nodded and then pointed to a red headed girl.

"That's Lydia, she's a Banshee. The boy next to her is Jackson, he's a werewolf. Over there, the dark skinned boy is Boyd, he's a wolf, the other boy, Isaac, he's a wolf, and lastly, the girl, her names Erica, she's a wolf. Their all a part of Derek's pack." Stiles explained. Allison nodded. "Hey, uhm, do you maybe wanna hang out after school? We could go to the dock, see Scott." Stiles suggested.

"I'd love to." Allison smiled.

Allison really liked it in Beacon Hills. She had made friends with Stiles, Lydia, and the rest of the pack. And Scott was really nice. She was in her room doing homework when her father came and knocked on her door. He was armed in all of his hunting gear.

"Dad?" Allison asked.

"There was a Mermaid spotted in the lake by one of our hunters, come on, we're going to see if we can't catch it." Allison's eye's widened and her face paled.

"Dad, we can't." Allison said as she stumbled off her bed and over to him to grab his arm.

"We've done this hundreds of times Allison, why not now?" Chris asked slightly irradiated, they were wasting precious time.

"Dad we just can't, I-" Allison started but cut herself off, she wasn't about to give Scott away.

"For the love of- Allison! I told you to stop talking to them, you always get attached, that's why we had to move." Chris sighed. "I'll call of the hunters. Find a way to get a hold of the one you befriended and.... figure something out." Chris said as he pinched the bridge of his nose and walked out of his only daughter's room.

Allison rushed down the dock and saw Scott quickly pop his head up when she got to the edge.

"Allison! I'm sorry, my mom was spotted." Scott said looking close to tears.

"I know! My dad's calling off all of the hunters." Allison said. Scott looked relieved.

"Thank you." He said as he pushed himself up on the dock and leaned in to kiss her cheek. They both blushed.

"You're welcome." Allison said as she tucked a strand of her long black hair behind her ear.

"So uhm... I was talking with king Triton and he said.... if I wanted, I could come live on the surface with you. O-only if that's okay with you." Scott stuttered out. He blushed and looked down.

"I would love that." Allison smiled. Scott nodded and turned to go back under water then quickly jumped up and kissed her on the lips before going to talk to Triton.

➖3 weeks later➖

Allison smiled as she reached over to grab Scott's hand as they walked back home from the ice cream parlor down the road. Scott had never had ice cream before and Allison had to bring him to try it.

"I really like being up here with you." Scott said, smiling as he leaned over to kiss Allison's cheek. Allison grinned at him.

"I really like you being here too." Allison said softly. She was really happy that her parents decided on Beacon Hills this time.
