The Golden Dragon [Akatsuki no Yona]

Chapter 5: Jikan no ōjo

"What the heck is happening?!" One of the bandits shouted in confusion. No matter how close they managed to get to Ash, their bodies would turn into crisp and black before they even have time to scream for help.

"She's a monster!" One of them shouted in fear and some started to flee for their lives. At the corner of her eye, she saw Yona being taken away further and further. She was crying. Yona was crying. That infuriated the fire girl, making fire appeared more violent around her. 

"You guys..." Ash muttered and started to walk towards the man carrying Yona.

"She started moving! Quickly here is our chance! Don't let her get to our second boss!" The bandits shouted and ran towards her one more time, but their efforts were futile.

Ash put her hand up and conjured up a dragon's hand made of fire and swiped it through the bandits, their deaths were instant. They could not even have time to scream, all they could do was stare at their bodies disappearing before their eyes.

Then, a sword appeared in her hands, it a strange looking sword. It was golden and what was peculiar was the red fire covering it. It never burnt out. One swipe and fire was sent across, hitting the bandits. 

"Return back my best friend!" Ash shouted and jumped up really high, slashing the back of the man carrying Yona and grabbed Yona immediately. "Hiryuu... Please save Seiryuu..." With that, she fell unconscious on the ground...

Yona stared at her, surprised at what Ash called her. She called her 'Hiryuu'.

ASH'S POV

Where am I? What was I doing?

Oh right... I was in a village on the land of fire. Then, I saw Yona being carried by one of the bandits unconscious...

I wonder if Seiryuu saved her... I can't possibly do so when I am in this state...

Then, a golden dragon appeared before me. Her scales were shiny and gold. Her eyes bright and of gold.  She was so beautiful and majestic.

"Kinryuu..." I mouthed out. "Long time no see...I believe hundreds of years has passed since the last time you brought me into this state. Probably thousands... I kind of forgotten about you, if you did not appear I don't think I could have remembered everything from the beginning."

"Yes, it has been a long time, human girl," the dragon replied. "But, I have been using your body a lot during these many years."

"Oh? I am guessing you are helping me save Yona now, right?" I asked with a smile. "Thanks."

"One day, you will be able to control these flames as well," the dragon replied. "After all, you are my human counterpart."

"Nah, I would never be able to conjure them as well as you do. I forget things so easily... I even forgot my own friends..." I replied.

"The first generation of Seiryuu, Hakyruu, Ryokuryuu and Ouryuu?" the dragon asked.

"Indeed... I have forgotten their names after seeing and meeting their descendants," I replied.

"You do realize how different you are from them right?" The dragon asked.

"Yup, I am the counterpart that loves humans, and you are the one who hates them," I replied. "Though, you promised not to hurt them unless they are bad."

"Of course human girl, I keep my promises," the dragon replied.

"Thanks for letting me live again," I replied. "I think it is about time I woke up."
