Chapter 28: Zeno

I've always known about Zeno's ability. Well, more like I realized it after I saw that Zeno was one of the original dragon warriors. I found it strange already when he was able to stay with me without getting my sickness, but I brushed it off and just thought that he had a really high immune system. However, when I saw him with the other three, that was when I realized who he was. He was the Ouryuu, the odd one of the four dragon warriors. He was immortal, along with that...

"Wha... What is this?... His injury healed?" The soldier who 'killed' Zeno gasped in shock.

"Don't be stupid!"

"But, you saw, right?! He..."

"You were just seeing things. You just made a mistake and thought he was sliced down...!"

"This time... I'll definitely... Kill him!" The soldier shouted and stabbed Zeno in his heart. Zeno fell with his teeth gritted. I reacted in time and caught him before he fell to the ground. "Look, I stabbed him through the heart. Now he..."

Zeno's heart regenerated and he got up with restless eyes.

"Wha... What is this guy?! His injuries... His body... This is a joke! I've seen my comrades die with their innards splattered countless times! Something this ridiculous... Can't happen!" The soldier then slashed off Zeno's left arm. "I'll cut you to pieces!"

"Ash, lend me your blade," Zeno asked and I pass him one of my blades to the slashed down arm. The soldier then slashed down Zeno's other arm. Blood gushes out from both sides.

"That should do it..." The soldier muttered. Behind him was Zeno's arm with my blade in the air, then stabbing the soldier.

"If I am terrifying... Could you please go back home?" Zeno asked.

"Someone! Someone... Kill this guy- THIS MONSTER!" The soldier nearby screamed and more soldiers came.

"Ze... Zeno!" Yona called out with a worried tone. He turned around and gave her an assuring smile. He got back his two arms and charged at the soldiers, stabbing one of them. Another slashed his cheek before a ton of soldiers pierced their swords into his body.

"Drop dead!"

They then beheaded him.

The sight of Zeno's bloody and torn up body was frightening. It made me so infuriated... Zeno regenerated and stood up while the soldiers stared at him in fear and shock.

"What the hell are you?! How are you still moving?! Why are you still living?!" The soldiers asked.

"I've finally been able to see them. No matter how many times you tear me apart... I will be everyone's shield..." He muttered and rushed at the soldiers.

"G-Get away!" He tried to slash him. "My sword won't slice through..."

"Yeah... You... Can't pierce me anymore." Zeno swiftly crushed the soldier's head which his hands. Then kicking another soldier who tried to slash him. His skin had changed to yellow scales.

The soldiers finally started to run away in fear towards the dragon warriors and Hak. Zeno quickly dashed to them and leaped into the air before crashing down on them to prevent them from hurting them. "Hi! Is everyone okay?"

"Zeno..." Kija muttered.

"There, there. I'm still alive," Zeno said.

"You... What on earth."

"Unless I am attacked. I'm the odd one out who doesn't have any powers, however... When it regenerates... This body... Turns into steel. Right now, I have brute strength like Hakuryuu... And can kick like Ryokuryuu," He replied and turned to the soldiers. "What will you do? Unlike you, I have no limits. I can go on fighting for hundreds of years. Come at me. I have all the time in the world."
