Chapter 17: Nadai

ASH'S POV

When I woke up, I saw everyone bringing a drunken Jae-ha in to the room. Not only that, but he looked in pain.

"What happened?" I asked in shock.

"He seems to have taken something bad," Hak replied and laid him on a futon that was taken out by Yun. "Do me a favor and get out Ash."

"All right," I got up and went outside with everyone else. Lynlet seemed to understand the situation better so I asked her what was going on.

"Jae-ha went out for a while then Shin-ah, Zeno and Kija said they found something weird about his presence so we rushed out to find him," Lynlet replied.

"From the way he was acting. He was most likely forced to take a drug," I sighed. "Hopefully he doesn't die... After all, dragon warriors don't leave a long life."

Lynlet averted her eyes away at the topic and her mouth curved down to a frown. She fidgetted with the ring tied on her necklace. 

She must be thinking of Abi and the rest of them...

"I'm sorry... That was inconsiderate of me..." I bit my lip and averted my gaze as well to the other dragon warriors. They were fretting about Jae-ha's condition. I tugged on Lynlet's clothes and signaled to her that we should go over to them. She nodded and we made our way to them. As we walked over, they each greeted us silently with a nod.

"What do you guys think of the situation?" I asked. "I suspect he took a drug during his walk."

"That's what we thought too!" Kija replied. "And it was probably forced, I don't believe Jae-ha would take anything suspicious."

"That can be true, but he said he was going to the red light district. I can't be sure about that," Lynlet stated.

"Wells, we will know when Ryokuryuu wakes up, won't we?" Zeno asked.

"Jae-ha! You're awake?!" A loud voice woke me from my rest. That and Zeno patting my shoulder. I was leaning my head on his shoulder and sleeping. I got up and headed to the lying Ryokuryuu.

"How are you feeling?" Yona asked. Jae-ha got up slowly to show that he was fine, but Hak saw that his hand was shaking and shoved him back down to his pillow. "Sleep." 

"Yeah! Sleep!" Kija said.

"Got to sleep!" Yona said, but I could see that she herself did not sleep much too.

"You too..." Jae-ha sighed.

"We tried to make you throw up what you drank but..." Yun said. "It didn't really go well."

"Yeah, I took my fist and punched you right in the stomach," Hak said.

"That's why it felt like my bones were going to break earlier..." Jae-ha sighed.

"Be grateful. The white snake was originally supposed to do it," Hak said. "I thought you'd die so I took over."

"No, even a punch from Hak would kill a normal person. I wouldn't have died from the drug, it would've bene because I was beaten to death."

If it's a strong drug, symptoms might come up later," Yun said.

"It's fine. I'm used to drugs," Jae-ha replied. Everyone stared in shocked. "Ah, no. I lied."

"... You're too dangerous Jae-ha," I said.

"Dangerous. Dangerous," Zeno said.

"It's probably best if we don't let you go outside," Kija said.
