Ch.8

(Kat POV)
   
     We all returned to the cabin late at night after the sun had set and we couldn't use the sun to let our fur dry. I shifted behind my usual tree and quickly changed back into my clothes. Peter ordered pizza since it was late and no one wanted to actually cook food.

     It took 20 minutes for the pizza guy to arrive and when he did, we almost made him pee himself. We all had been sitting on the couch previously but once that doorbell rang we all began to push each other out of the way to get to the door first.

     Gavin was the one who threw the door open so fast it broke the hinges off and the door came detached from the frame. The poor delivery guy thrust the boxes into Gavin's arms as quick as he could and ran to his car yelling that it was on the house.

     Gavin then tucked the boxes in his arms protectively and ran to the kitchen where our small mob assembled. He grabbed his plate quickly and set the pizzas on the kitchen table and threw open the lids. We dove into those pizzas like we hadn't been fed in weeks. We had bought seven pizzas and I had eaten an entire pizza by myself. So had everyone else, well besides Jamie. Jamie still had one piece left and was looking like she felt overstuffed. Gavin and I however were stalking her every move to see if we could claim that last slice of pepperoni pizza.

     "Hey guys I'm full. Anyone want this last slice?" Jamie groaned.

     "Me!" Gavin and I yelled simultaneously.

     We turned to glare at each other and everyone else started to get out of their seats.

     "Well you guys decide who gets that while we all go lay down and chill." Said Jamie as they all headed towards the stairs. Once everyone was up the stairs we both dove towards the pizza box and our hands landed on opposite edges, pulling the box towards our bodies. I quickly threw my hand towards the slice and snatched the pizza. I shoved it into my mouth and ate it as quick as I could. I swallowed and looked towards Gavin with a smirk on my face. Shit. His eyes were black letting me know his wolf had pushed into full control sometime during our shuffling and didn't like that Gavin wasn't dominant at the moment and didn't gain the victory of what he wanted.

     "Gavin.....calm down it was just a piece if pizza." I stated shakily.

     "Mine." He growled.

     He stepped towards me and I scrambled backwards but he was faster. He pushed my waist against the sink and claimed my lips with his.

     He pulled away after a while and his eyes were back to normal.

     "Wow! Your wolf really wanted that pizza." I breathed out.

     Gavin chuckled. "He wasn't talking about the pizza when he said mine." He stated.

     "Well what did he mean then?"

     "He was talking about you, as a mate." He said with a slight blush.

     That's right about when Jamie decided to stroll into the kitchen polling for her water bottle.

     "Get a room already!" Jamie groaned.

     We jumped apart like we were burning.

     "I-i don't know what your talking about." I stuttered.

    "Oh please! I already know that your mates! Just accept each other as mates and we can all live happy." She exclaimed.

     "Who knows?"I asked her in a serious tone.

     "Just me until you two accept each other as mates." She smirked.

     "Woah,woah,woah. How in the hell do you know about us? And since when?!" Gavin questions.

     "Only recently actually, it was that day at the creek. I knew right away once you jumped in the water with her. You haven't gone in any water unless it's the shower since Michael died." Jamie had began talking full of excitement but ended in barely a whisper.

     "I was too occupied with her to remember why I wasn't going in the water in the first place." He let out a grim chuckle.

     "And that's how I knew she was your mate big brother." Jamie threw him a small smile as she left the room.

     It was dead silent in the kitchen with no one moving until I worked up enough nerve to ask.

     "Who's Michael?" I whispered.

     "My youngest brother."
