Ch.14

(Ali's POV)

     "I mean exactly what you think it means." I answered him.

     "We'll elaborate on what I think it means."

     "It means you want what you want and you don't care what it takes you or anyone else to get it!"

     "I don't even think you believe that one!"

     "You're careless!"

     "Oh yeah?"

     "You've always been!"

     "Since when?!"

     "Since forever!"

     "Is that all you've got?"

     "All you want is power and you'll do anything to get it!"

     "Like what?!"

     "Like....like....."

     "Go ahead Katie! Say it!"

     "Like take it away from your brother! Taunt him with it! Put it all right in his face and make his obey your orders!"

     That last one was a low blow, but I was out for pain.

     "At least I'm not a spoiled brat like you." He stated.

      I sucked in a breath and marched up the steps. I went to my room and pulled my bag from the closet. I began packing all my items into my bag and sensed him come to stand in my doorway.

     "What are you doing?" He asked.

     "Going home, what does it look like."

     "Seriously?! You're going home after one fight?!"

     "It's more than that Gavin! It's the point that you flirted with another girl and gave her your number when you already knew we were mates!"

     "I messed up! So did you!"

     "What did I do?!"

      "Are you serious?! You just brought the Alpha situation between my brother and I! You knew I felt guilty  about how things ended up between us! You knew I felt guilty he would always have to see me be the leader, and have him obey my orders! You knew how much that hurt me!"

     "That doesn't make up for you disrespecting the mate bond!"

     "This isn't even about the mate bond anymore is it?! This is about you finding a way out. A way to run without blaming yourself. We'll guess what? Were mates whether you like it or not and you'll have to see me eventually!"

     "Well in the meantime I'm going home! I won't have to deal with you for three weeks and trust me that's not long enough!"

     He sucked in a breath.

     "I'll have a car her in twenty minutes for you to go home." He whispered.

     He walked down the steps and the entire house was silent besides him on the phone getting me a taxi.

     I texted my parents letting them know I was coming home early since I wasn't feeling well. I don't think they bought it but they got the point that something was wrong and let it go.

     I quickly finished packing and threw the strap of my bag over my shoulder. I walked into the hall to see Liam, Lexi, Peter, and Jamie standing in front of the steps.

     Liam looked angry while Lexi, Jamie and Peter looked upset.

     "You're really giving up that easy?" Liam asked.

     "Just leave it Liam."

     He scoffed. "You're not the sister I grew up with. That girl would never give up so easily."

     He pushed past me and Lexi stepped up to give me a hug.

     "He'll calm down." She whispered in my ear.

     "I know. I just don't know how long it'll take." I whispered back sadly.

     Lexi pulled away and Jamie quickly replaced her. Once we were done with our goodbyes, Peter gave me a quick hug and told me goodbye. I went down stairs to the front porch and Gavin was waiting next to a taxi van. He opened the door for me and shut it once I was inside.

     "Take good care of her for me." He told the driver.

     "Yes Mr.Manning." The driver assured.

     Gavin tapped on the side and stepped back as the driver pulled out of the driveway. I looked out the window to see Gavin with his hands shoved in his pockets, Peter with his hand on his brothers shoulder, and the rest of the group behind them. Well the rest if the group besides Matt and Liam. I guess Liam didn't even want to see me off. As we pulled away from the cabin I saw Matt's head poke out from behind one if the nearby trees in the forest. He looked at the car to the direction of the cabin and took off running to the cabin. He would soon find out how I left and would probably side with Liam no matter how he felt towards him at the time.
