(Kat's POV)
Ali and I had talked until about 10 O'clock the night before and she had offered to let me stay the night to get some rest. At first I had politely refused but Gavin's scent did make me feel comfortable so I eventually accepted after she persisted. I had began my way to the couch when she grabbed my shoulder an turned me in direction of the staircase.
"You can stay in Gavin's room. I know you'll be more comfortable in there."
I began to protest but decided it was pointless and began my way to his room. After following her directions I opened the door to his room and was left speechless. His room was a combination of navy blue and white with the occasional gold accent. Whoever had designed this room basically summed up Gavin all together with this theme. I crawled into his bed under the comforter and fell asleep as quickly as my head hit the pillow.
...
As soon as I woke up I could feel it. My wolf was antsy about something and it was becoming annoying. I groaned and rolled to my other side. All that did was make her annoyed and even more antsy.
Mate. She growled.
I shot up to a sitting position an listened closely. I could hear him talking to his mother in the kitchen. My heart began to pound in my chest and I threw the cover off of my body. I quickly walked down the hall and staircase to get to the living room. From there I walked to the doorway of the kitchen where I could see him.
I let out a gasp and he whipped around. Our eyes met and I saw those amazing blue eyes.
"I'll leave you two alone for a while. Amiel please come with me to plan a lunch for a few Luna's." She spoke the first part to us and the second to the chef.
They exited the kitchen and I began to close the distance between us. I walked around the kitchen island and stood before him.
"Kat we need to ta-"
I cut him off by wrapping my arms around his waist.
"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry Gavin."
He returned the hug by tightly wrapping his arms around me and laid his head on mine.
"Don't be sorry Kat. You were just upset we both were. I'm sorry I called you a spoiled brat."
"It wasn't that you called me a spoiled brat that made me leave. You were right. I was scared of having a mate and I found a way out."
"Are you still scared of having a mate?" I felt his arms slightly tighten.
"Yes." He froze. "But, now I know that I do like you besides my wolf. I missed you a lot and my wolf had nothing to do with that."
He relaxed. He then lifted his off head off mine. I lifted my head from where it was resting on his chest and looked up at him.
"I missed you too." He admitted.
I gave him a big smile before I stood on the tip of my toes and placed a small kiss in his cheek. Once I was flat on the ground I looked up and saw him smiling from ear to ear. He wasted no time in picking me up so I was a few inches off the ground and kissed me.
We pulled away for air when niether of us could breath.
"You didn't think I would let you get away with only a peck did you?"
I laughed and he joined in until we were both just enjoying the moment.
At the cabin his wolf was the one who had caused that kiss, but here it was all him.
"I got you something." He told me.
"You didn't have to do that!"
"But I did so shut up." He joked.
I laughed as he grabbed my hand and pulled me behind him until we were standing next to where he placed his bags the night before.
"Close your eyes."
"What, why?"
"Just do it and don't open them until I say." He commanded.
I closed my eyes and heard him rustling in his bags for something.
"Ok open them."
I opened my eyes and found a 8x9 canvas painting. I gasped and placed a hand over my mouth. The detail on it was amazing but what really took my breath away was what the painting was of. It was Gavin and I sitting on a blanket with the ocean behind us. We were both smiling and his arm was around my shoulders.
"It's beautiful." I whispered, reaching my hand out to trace my fingers on his signature on the bottom.
"Just like you."
I blushed and a smile appeared on my face. I automatically threw my arms around his neck and kissed him. I felt him smile into my lips and and returned the gesture in a matter of seconds. He pulled away after a minute and stared into my eyes.
"I don't think we're just friends anymore Kat."
"I don't want to be."
A/N- This is NOT the end!!!! This book still has a few chapters left where I want to finish the other characters story line up and then the Epilouge!!! I didn't do that on The Girl Who Cried Wolf because I knew there would be a sequel but this book won't have a sequel!! Thanks for reading!
