Ch.20

(Gavin's POV)

     Having her in my arms was a dream come true. Her scent was intoxicating and now that I was sure of my feelings , besides our wolves mate bond, towards her nothing was holding me back from being around her.

     To say I regretted telling her I wanted to wait to be be her mate was an understatement. I'd missed out on so many potential kisses and embraces I was practically kicking myself.

     When we arrived back to the pack territory both sets of parents were there. Once we broke the news to them I thought her mom was going to kill me.

     Her dad barely restrained her from doing so, and I bared a long and loud speech regardless. The pack was very accepting of her thank goddess, maybe even a little too accepting.

     The possessiveness I had now towards her was intensified with being around her so much and so far being back around other wolves has had some conflicts.

     She was gorgeous, and I wasn't the only one who noticed. Most unmarked wolves in my pack were giving her looks that only I was meant to give her. Not all of them were male either.

     Everywhere she went I was close behind her with either an arm around her or a hand entwined with hers.

     A few days from now however, was moving day for her and I wanted the room to be a surprise. That left me with minimal options.

     1.) Make Matt watch over her.

     Too many risks with that one since Matt wasn't her mate he wouldn't be as possessive and pick up on as many advances.

     2.) Mark her as mine.

     I didn't know if she was ready for that yet.

     Both options were flawed severely, which left me with one choice. Option three.

     3.) Drop her off at her old pack for two days while I remodeled my, our, room and rely on sheer trust.

      The option left me worrisome but it was the right thing for her.

     I pulled her into my room and plopped us both into my bed. Her giggles filled the room and brought a smile to my face. I pulled her into me and propped my body up on my forearm to look at her from above.

     "I have a surprise for you." I  told her.

     "What is it?"

     "Well if I told you it wouldn't be a surprise would it?"

     "Ugh finneee"

     I chuckled at her and pulled her closer to me, if that's even possible.

     "I'll tell you tomorrow morning, ok baby?"

     "I like it when you call me that."

     I was confused.

     "Call you what?"

     "Baby." She giggled.

     I think my smile doubled.

     "Well in that case get some sleep,.... Baby."

     She laughed and turned on her side, placing her head on my chest as I lay down.

     Why did I wait so long to have this girl sleeping next to me?

                              ...

     I woke up and Kat was still asleep only now she had her leg slung over mine and her arms wrapped around me.

      I laughed and gently poked her arm. She didn't move at all. I poked her cheek.

     "Kat. Kat wake up."

     She groaned but didn't move. I poked her cheek again.

     "Kat wake up."

     "No."

     "Kat come on I have that surprise for you."

     She groaned again.

     "Fineee."

     She opened her eyes and looked at me through her long hair. I brushed the hair out of her face with my hand and she smiled at me.

     "I didn't know you slept like you were hugging a tree." I joked.

     She noticed our sleeping position and blushed.

     "I'm sorry."

     "Don't be baby." I smiled at her.

     She blushed a little more and untangled herself. She was still wearing yesterday's clothes since she didn't have any extra.

     "Can I borrow some clothes so I can take a shower before you tell me what the surprise is?"

     "Sure thing. I'll lay clothes on the bed while your in the shower and you can come into the hall when your done."

      "Ok, thanks Gav."

     "No problem baby."

     I got a towel and handed it to her as she made her way to the shower.

     Once she was inside the bathroom I got the smallest pair of sweatpants and the smallest T-shirt I had. I placed them on the bed and went out into the hall where I sat down and put my headphones into my ears.
