Ch.10

(Ali's POV)

"Wake up!" Jamie shouted in my face as she jumped onto the end of my bed.

I shot up to a sitting position and heard chuckles around the room. I looked around and saw Jamie, Liam and Matt. I groaned and laid back down, pulling my blanket over my head. I heard Liam laugh and his footsteps grew closer to my bed. What was he up-

"Umph. Liam..." I growled at him. He just pushed me off my own bed!

He just laughed and sat on my bed while Matt sat in my desk chair.

"Come on you have to wake up we have stuff to do!" Said Matt.

"Like what?" I groaned, grabbing my hairbrush as I stood from the ground. I sat on my bed next to my brother and began to brush out my bed head.

"We have to plan Lexi's surprise birthday bonfire!" Jamie exclaimed.

"Are you sure it's a surprise anymore and when's her birthday?" I joked taking a drink out of my water bottle.

"Tonight," I choked on my water, "and don't worry Gavin and Peter have the job of distracting her all day until the party." She explained.

"How are we supposed to plan a bonfire party in one day?"

"We all ready invited a few people so all we have to do is get drinks, set up the fire, and decorate the beach." Liam spoke up.

"Come on, it'll be fun!" Jamie yelled, grabbing my hand and dragging me behind her out the door.

     I put the last piece of log in place and looked at all the work that was done in such a short amount of time. A large bonfire had large logs surrounding it, a drinks table was placed by the house with tiki torches around it and a "Happy Birthday Lexi banner was hung over the doorway to the beach.

     Everyone had arrived within a half hour of us finishing the preparations and it was two hours before Gavin texted me saying they were pulling into the driveway. I told everyone to turn off the music and stay quiet.

     "Why should I go out-" Lexi was interrupted by everyone yelling "Happy 18th Birthday Lexi!"

     She smiled and gave us, the group actually staying in the cabin, a group hug.

     "Thanks guys!"

(Lexi's POV)

     Gavin and Peter took me out to eat and then shopping for my birthday as usual. Ever since we were little this has been a tradition. But usually Matt, Liam and Jamie came as well so something was off.

     "So where are Matt, Liam, and Jamie?" I asked as we sat down to eat before we went back to the cabin.

     "Jamie had a date with a boy she met in town and Liam and Matt went to spy on her." Peter laughed.

     Jamie on a date? Without Gavin and Peter on her tail? What on earth is going on here?!

     "Speaking of dates, do you think you'll find your mate anytime soon?" Gavin asked pulling me from my thoughts about Jamie.

     "Well, if I do I doubt Matt will be ok with it. He's always so protective and it drives me insane. Hopefully when I find my mate he'll back off a little." I admitted.

     "He just wants the best for you Lex." Gavin said softly.

     "I know."

      We pulled into the driveway of the cabin and I started to get out of the truck and go up to my room but Peter stopped me by saying I should go to the beach. I was confused but I started walking out to the beach.

       "Why should I go out-"

     "Happy 18th Birthday Lexi!"

     I smiled and pulled our cabin group into a group hug.

     The night was filled with dancing and laughing until Liam pulled me away.

     "What's up Liam?"

     "Happy Birthday Lex! Your officially 18 in 3.....2.....1....."

     "Mate."
