Ch.11

(Lexi's POV)

     Mate. One word, four letters, and so much meaning.

     Hearing it come from Liam's mouth was a shock. I had been around him for years since our parents were friends way back from high school. Never in a million years did I think he would turn out to be my mate. He's my brother's best friend!

     My brother. Oh goddess, Matt was going to kill me. Or worse kill Liam.

     "Mine." Liam's voice brought me back from my thoughts about Matt. He gently wrapped a hand around my cheek.

     My wolf  purred in happiness and pressed my face into his palm.

    I could feel the joy rolling off his body in waves at the show of acceptance. He smiled at me and lifted me off my feet in hug. I laughed and wrapped my arms around his neck pressing my face into the crook of his neck. We stayed like that for awhile before he put me back on my feet, with some hesitation, and took my hand to lead me back to the party. The entire night he kept me by him, touching me in some way or another. Whether it was dancing or him placing his hand on the small of my back. It made my insides tingle but also made me worry Matt would find out.

(Liam's POV)

     "Mate."

     The words came out of my mouth so quick I couldn't stop them. I had always felt a slight pull to Lexi but never did I imagine that she was my mate. She was my best friend's little sister for goddess sake. Oh my goddess. Matt. He was going to kill me. I was sure to be dead when he found out about this.

      My wolf picked up on her wolf's nervousness, she was probably thinking the same thing as me.

      "Mine."

     I gently wrapped my hand around he cheek. Her wolf purred and she pushed her face into my palm.

     My wolf and I beamed in happiness and I'm sure she felt it based on the smile that graced the beauty's face.

     I quickly wrapped my arms around her waist and lifted her off her feet while she wrapped her arms around my neck with a laugh. She pressed her face into the crook of my neck and I swear I could have kept her there forever.

      After awhile I reluctantly put her back on her feet. I led her back to the party since it was for her birthday and she should get to enjoy it. No way was I letting her be by herself around all those males though. I made sure to keep her close at all times through the night to keep my wolf at ease. I really hope that whatever happens in the morning doesn't ruin my friendship with Matt because no matter what he does, he won't stop me from being with my mate.
