Chapter 50 And So It Begins

Tony's POV
"Pepper, I'm home." I call as I open the door to my house. We decided we would crash there, for now.

"Tony?" Pepper came running into the room. "You're ok! The news, the tower, I thought you die-"

I pulled her in close and planted a kiss on her forehead. "I'm not dead yet."

Pepper noticed everyone awkwardly standing behind me. She stepped away from me and fixed her hair. "Oh, hi. You must be the Avengers. I'm-"

"Pepper." Steve finished. "It's nice to finally meet you ma'am." Steve shook her hand polity.

"Your so kind." Pepper acknowledged with a smile. "Why haven't you rubbed off on Tony yet?"

I felt a small ping of jealousy. "Thank goodness he hasn't rubbed off on my then I'd be a stuck up-"

"Kind caring person." Pepper finished. Steve gave me an annoying grin. 

"I guess." I mutter.

Pepper frowned. "I don't think I'm familiar with you two."

Koda and Amanda both looked at each other. "We're new." Amanda explained.

"We're siblings." Koda added.

"I am her adopted brother." Thor put in.

"That's nice, but I was actually hoping for some names..." Pepper hinted.

"Oh right. I'm Amanda"

"I'm Koda."

"I am Thor."

"She already knows your name." Clint groaned.

"She asked for my name." Thor argued.

"Can you excuse us for a minute." Pepper pulled me aside. "Tony, why are the Avengers in our living room?"

"They have no where else to stay. They lived at the tower." I point out.

"So they're going to stay here?" Pepper asked.

"Why not?"

"There's a creepy guy with a metal arm!" She exclaimed, nodding towards Bucky.

I tried to calm her down. "It's ok, he's not a Hydra assassin anymore. He's only tried to kill us like once or twice."

"Tried to kill you!"

"Can we go over this later please?" I beg. There was a crash from behind us causing me to turn around.

Sam put his hands up. "I barely touched it. You should like, have a fragile label on it or something cause that scared the crap outta me."

Pepper took a few deep breaths. "Ok, I'm going to work. You can handle them."

She was gone in seconds. Clint turned on the news. "Let's see what damage Hydra did." We all looked anxiously to the screen as a reporter appeared in front of scenes of destruction.
