I couldn't believe how much has changed since freshman year. I was no longer on the cheerleading team and oddly it felt good. I looked in the back of my closet to see my old pair of black skinny jeans. I loaded them into a suitcase and zipped it out. My mom was at work and I wrote her note. I didn't want to stay here if she is going to upset over the most stupid thing ever. It's nothing wrong if I wanted to get to know my other siblings then I should. It's my choice and I put my bags in the trunk before I got in the drivers seat and I buckled myself in because safety comes first. I drove to Alex's house because I was hanging out with Alex. Before I left, I checked the mail and I saw got college letters from universities in New York or California schools. I think it would feel odd because Alex and I only really hung out with Jesse but now Jesse dead and there's nothing that anyone could do about it. Alex opened the door and he hugged me tight. "So, have you got any college letters" Alex asked while I sat down on his couch. "Yeah just these" I handed him five college letters. Alex looked at me shocked and I shrugged my shoulders. "My mom is making her world famous mac and cheese" Alex bragged to me and let me tell you something, Alex hardly brags unless it's about his mom's cooking and even then Alex deserved to brag. It would have been a while since I had a nice home cooked meal. Mike does have a chef in his house that makes everything but Mike tries to cook and not depend on the chef at all either. It turns out the chef quit working for Mike's mom but chose to stay working for Mr. Clifford. Mike told me once that the chef isn't just an employee but rather a family because he watched Mike since he was little whenever his parents weren't around. Mike really do love Tony that's what his chef's name is. "Yeah, that sounds delicious" I felt my mouth dropped. Alex just nudged me and punched me in my shoulder. "Word around the block is that you are officially off the market" Alex tilted his head and I rolled my eyes. "I was always off the market" I gave him a smirk and Alex rolled his eyes once again. "I heard you gave Luke a promise ring" Alex raised an eyebrow and I swear that Mike and him would get along great. "I swear you and Mike are both creepy as what. How do you know this" I looked at him giving him a look and Alex just shrugged his shoulders. "What happen between your mom and you" Alex asked me and I gave him a look which caused him to shrug his shoulders. "You remember Evan, he heard you and your mom arguing" Alex informed me and I sighed while leaning back against the couch. "She didn't like that I was talking to my half-siblings" I responded while shrugging my shoulders. "Ash listen to me, you can stay here all you want. You know my mom loves you" Alex told me while smiling a little bit at me. "I mean who wouldn't love me," I smirked at him and Alex rolled his eyes. "Now don't you start getting cocky on me Mr. doctor" Alex punched me in my shoulder. "Come on, there's no way I am going to become a doctor" I looked at the ground. "Did you even try opening your college letters" Alex pushed the letters to open it. "Becoming a doctor has always been a dream of yours and I am not letting you give it up. Jesse wouldn't want you to" Alex urged me to open up the letters. I opened New York letters first then California ones. Alex had the biggest smile so much that it slowly started creeping me out. "Can you knock it off" I crossed my arms over my chest. "See, I told you would get into the schools. All of the schools of you choosing" Alex was bouncing up and down. "Why are you bouncing up and down? Are you on drugs or something?"  I crossed my arms and Alex glared at me causing me to laugh in response. "Of course I'm not on drugs" Alex mumbled to me about ruining his happiness. "I hate to be a downer but do you see a financial aid packet at all from any of these schools"  I plopped back down on the couch and Alex smile went away and turned into a frown. "Hey, you will get to go college," Alex patted my shoulder. "It's just if I don't, I might end up like my mother" I confessed to Alex and Alex somewhat looked uncomfortable and Alex just gave me a small smile. There's the difference between Alex and Jesse, Alex was caring but he had a hard time showing it but Jesse, he comfort you and he didn't care who he showed it to. Alex got hard at young age but Jesse always had a hard time becoming cold because it wasn't him but instead he was the wisecracker but could show a serious side. "How's your mom doing" I changed the subject and Alex just shook his head. "My mom still sits up a place at the dinner table for Jesse" Alex whispered because Ms. Rocker came into the room. We ate the amazing mac and cheese before I went and took a shower. I stared at myself in the mirror feeling around each of my scars. Scars that I inflicted and I couldn't help but feel ashamed over. I guess I forgot to tell you this but Alex's mom lived in a nice neighborhood. She got her big break for her restaurant and then she moved but by then Alex was already in a gang and couldn't get out. The doorbell rang and I looked at Alex after I took a shower. Alex was holding a smirk on his face. I walked downstairs to see a drumset just sitting out there. Mike, Cal and Luke was all there holding a smile on their faces. I looked at Alex. "What it's your birthday gift" Alex shrugged his shoulders while nudging me to go look at the drumset and Mike handed me drumsticks. "Look at the writing" Luke commanded me and I turned the drumsticks over and it was engraved with my intials. "Thank you" I kissed Luke before hugging Mike and Cal. Mike still hated hugs but I couldn't help it. "Play it Ash" Alex commanded me and I sat down and started playing the drums. "Come on in guys" Alex opened the door and I along with help from Luke, Mike and Cal we carried the drumset into the basement. I couldn't believe it that Luke, Cal and Mike got am a drumset and Alex knew all about it.
