Day 1. Outside the Window

1. Outside the Window: What's the weather outside your window doing right now? If that's not inspiring, what's the weather like somewhere you wish you could be?

Sunny

The sky is blue today. It looks like the shade of candy: sweet, smooth, and delicious. (I am in love with the the sky.) It is my favorite type of blue, all light and warm, like the blue of a delicate robin's egg. Stretched across the sky are a few clouds, looking like cotton filling flattened and stretched. Wisps hang from their fluffy edges.

The sun is shining brightly. It feels like it's exposing its cheerful, warm face in a benevolent blessing to us on this first day of a new year. Yet it's not hot, even with the pulsating sun hovering directly overhead. There is a chill. An occasional slight wind rustles the stubbornly hanging on leaves in a low rushing sound. It sounds like paper being ruffled or a thousand ballgowns twirling on the dance floor. Are the leaves dancing to the music of the wind?

It is a beautiful day, cold, crisp, and bright. The sort of day you enjoy from inside and out. The sort of day where you need a jacket, but not a coat. The sort of the day that brightens your mood, makes happy your heart, and leaves you feeling as fresh and clear as nature is.
