As told by my irate mother when I do it wrong.
Step one, grip your broom. You are in control. The broom is a tool; it does not control you. Your right hand should be curved around the upper side of the pole, and closer to the bristles than your left hand. This is for maximum dexterity. Your left hand should be encircled around underside of the pole, and higher up. The positions switch if you are reaching under something, such as a table.
Step two, maintain control. Be firm. Apply gentle pressure with your right hand.
Step three, sweep every square surface, not too hard and not too soft. Going fast doesn't help.
Step four, don't be stupid. Pay attention. Don't be clueless. If you do it wrong you'll have to do it all over again.
Step five, stop hitting people with the broom.
Step six, stop throwing the dustbin everywhere.
Step seven, make sure you don't just dump the contents of the dustbin right on top of the trash if it's full. Otherwise it flies everywhere.
Step eight, kill this spider!
Step nine, post these instructions, which I swear have all been very seriously told to me, on Wattpad.
