3| Stop saying sorry
~Stephanie~
The new boys just walked in, the ones our teacher was telling us about. One had blonde hair and piercing blue eyes; the other one had brown-black hair with chocolate brown eyes. The same brown-black hair and chocolate brown eyes I saw in the ice rink after I was knocked over. He's the one who crashed into me in the ice rink.
Should I talk to him?
What if it's awkward?
I'll try ignore him for the rest of the day.
After I finished fighting with myself, the boys moved to find a seat, anywhere in the class.
Thankfully, both seats next to me were taken up so they weren't able to sit next to me. But, somehow the universe managed to make two free seats behind me.
"Hey, Cal." Someone whispered no too discreetly from behind me; the two boys were probably talking to each other, "Isn't that the girl you bumped into the other day," his friend -probably Luke- added.
Oh shit, he recognises me.
"Umm..." Another voice -probably Calum- started awkwardly. "Yeah."
Their accents... Omg.
Before Luke could reply the bell rang, signifying the end of class. I internally groaned as I realised we had science next and I had to sit next to the two most popular boys in the school.
Don't get me wrong, they're hot and all but ever since I started this school in year 7, I've made it my life's mission to stay away from the popular kids. Yeah, I still talk to some of them, but that's only because the ones I talk to are nice.
After my bag was packed I set off down the hall to the science block. On my way there I got to hear Calum and Luke arguing with each other again.
"Talk to her." Luke told -more like ordered- Calum.
"What am I supposed to say?" Calum exclaimed.
"I don't know, think of something..." Luke trailed off "Quick," he added before I heard a series of grunts.
I kept looking forward, keeping myself from looking back at what's happening a few meters behind me. Then I was suddenly toppling forward from the weight that just crashed into me. The same weight which crashed into me while I was ice-skating.
Before I could actually fall I planted my feet on the ground, balancing myself. I heard a mumble from Calum, my ears only picking up "Luke" and "kill". I think I know what he's trying to say, and I was thinking the exact same thing.
After he finished his angry mumble he looked up at me and flushed, "I'm so sorry."
Oh my god. This boy never stops saying sorry.
"Stop saying sorry," I exclaimed at him, "The only things I've ever heard you say is 'I'm so sorry' and 'I'm Calum'." I left out the bit about when I heard the two boys talking in class and just a few seconds ago.
"Sor-" Calum started and stopped himself when I gave him a death glare.
The bell rang, which meant the start of the next class. "Our science class is just down the hall," I stated, exasperated "And yet, we're still late."
I started to speed-walk the rest of the way -no matter how stupid I looked- while Calum and Luke trailed behind me, jogging from time-to-time to catch up with me.
When I opened the door to our science class I apologised immediately. "Sorry I'm late madam."
Now I'm turning into Calum.
I waited for the question. "Why are you late, Stephanie?" My science teacher, Miss Brown, asked. Even though we were just a minute late.
"Well, I saw these two boys wandering off the wrong way and had to chase after them, after they wouldn't listen to me shouting after them." I expertly lied, knowing that because they were new I would be let off the hook.
Miss Brown nodded, as I let out a little sigh of relief, then walked over to my chair between the two most popular boys in the school.
After I finished unpacking, the boy to my right with blonde hair -his name was Joe- whispered, "That was a good lie."
Not knowing what to say, I simply nodded and sat there looking at the teacher, but not listening.
Why the hell did Joe just talk to me?! He's not suppose to be talking to me. Now that I didn't talk back, I feel bad. Curse my ability of feeling bad for people so easily.
