~Calum~

I pace around Stephanie's door before finally standing still, taking a big breath in, and then knocking.

A few seconds later the door opens to the girl I've always been extremely nervous around with her huge brown eyes and the soft features of her face.

I smile at her with my new found confidence. "Wanna hang out?" I ask her as I watch her facial expression change from happiness to weariness to confused.

"Sure?" Stephanie smiles awkwardly, the statement coming out like a question.

She's still weary around me, I mean she has all the right to be, but I need to take that weariness away.

Stephanie lets me in and leads me towards the living room which is currently occupied by two boys.

I look between the blonde and the bleached blonde, taking in their appearances before they notice I'm here and kick me out.

Luke's hair was flat at the moment, a different style from his usual high quiff. Other than his different style of hair, he looked completely the same as when I last saw him. But, what caught my attention was a silver ring on his pinkie finger.

Was that the promise ring?

He hasn't given a promise ring to anyone since-

"Molly," Luke chuckles, wrapping his arms around her hips, "I wanna give you something."

My head snaps up from my work as I watch the happy couple across the room.

I've always been jealous of Luke, he always got the girl while I just stand by the sidelines watching them.

I've always liked Molly, had a little schoolgirl crush on her since I saw her, but now those feeling are getting larger.

"What do you wanna give me?" Molly asked, turning around in his arms while she looked up at him, a small smirk playing on her lips.

I watch closer as Luke pulls out a silver ring and holds it up between both their faces.

"It's a promise ring," he tell her when he catches her confused look. "A promise ring so that you- and everyone else- knows you're mine, and only mind."

She smiles widely, snatching it from his grasp and immediately sliding into her pinkie finger.

I sigh as I lower my head again.

I don't even have a chance.

She's Luke's now, she'll never be called mine.

I break out of my face when I look over to Michael. Looks the same as before, only now he looks more rugged than before with his growing beard.

Both the boys were on the table, chatting away as I stand here and watch them.

"Guys," Stephanie says, causing their head's to snap towards us, "Calum want to hang out."

"Oh," Michael says in surprise, "okay."

"I'm too full," I groan as I rest my head back, clinging onto my stomach.

"That's what you said 30 minutes ago," Michael points out, "didn't stop you from eating all that pizza."
