15 || Someone's on their period

~Calum~

"What the hell dude," I punch Luke when I see him.

"What did I do?" Luke asks, clearly confused.

My mind flashes back to a few minutes ago when Stephanie and I nearly kissed. I blush furiously when Luke asks me that question.

Luke looks at me, a smile appearing on his face. "Did you and Stephanie nearly... y'know."

"You're making it sound like we nearly had sex," I laugh, then shake my head. "We nearly kissed."

"Finally," Luke exclaims, "you've grown some balls and tried kissing the girl."

"But then you interrupted me," I say, glaring at him.

"Well sorry," he says defensively, "Charlie just arrived."

"Okay," I say, "I'll just get Steph."

Luke elbows me, smirking all the while. "Gowan," he tries encouraging me, but failing miserably.

"Oh my god," I say, covering my face with my hands. "You embarrass me like a mother."

"That's what I'm here for, bestie." Luke exaggerates the last word.

I roll my eyes at Luke as I walked back to Stephanie.

I probably shouldn't mention the kiss. It'll be too awkward for my liking.

Her dark brown eyes met mine and my stomach flipped.

What's this girl doing to me?

"Sorcery," I mumble.

"What did you say?" Stephanie ask me, giving me a quizzical look.

My eyes widen in surprise; I didn't expect her to hear that.

"I said grocery," I lie. "I need to do some grocery shopping before I get back home.

She looks at me one last time before nodding, accepting my lie.

"Charlie's here," I tell her.

She just nods and stays seated, looking into the distance.

"I just said Charlie's here," I repeat incase she didn't hear me properly.

Stephanie sighs. "I know. I'm not taking a lift with Charlie."

I reluctantly sit next to her on the kerb. "Why not?"

"I called a taxi," she tells me.

Wow. Thanks for telling everyone.

"Just come and see Charlie so that he knows you're alright," I tell her, afraid of what Charlie might do to us if he doesn't see Stephanie.

"Okay," she says, standing up as we walked side-by-side to Charlie's car.

Once we get to Charlie's tiny car, the window rolls down and Charlie sticks his head out.

"Get in," Charlie orders, "now."

"Geez," I say. "Bossy much?"

"I'm tired, it's getting late and I'm cold," Charlie sighs. "Now get in."

When Stephanie and I didn't make a move to get into the car Charlie looks at us quizzically.

"Why aren't you getting in?" Charlie asks, tilting his head to the side.

By now everyone was standing by Charlie's car and listening to our conversation.

Stephanie shrugged. "I'm taking a taxi."

"Why?" Luke asks.

"If you guys haven't noticed," Michael speaks up, "Charlie's car is probably the tiniest car in the world--"

"It isn't," Charlie butts in.

"--And" Michael continues, glaring at Charlie, "we could barely fit 5 people in a 5 seater car. How do you think we're going to fit 7 people in."

"Thank you," Stephanie exclaims, "someone finally works it out themselves."

"Who's going with you then?" Charlie asked, looking around at the group huddled around his car.

"Dibs not me," Maisy and Ashton say at the same time, touching their nose with the tips of their index finger.

They're made to be.

Luke and Michael follow soon after, doing the exact same thing as Maisy and Ashton.

"Thanks guys," she says, rolling her eyes. "Nice to know you care a lot about me."

I guess I'm stuck with Stephanie. I'm just gonna hope this isn't awkward.

Luke gives me a mischievous grin as he looks between me and Stephanie. I mouth a 'fuck you' to him, causing him to snigger.

"We do care about you," Maisy starts, "it's just that we trust you to stay with Calum."

There was a chorus of agreement.

After a moment of silence Ashton says, "Well, your taxi's here."

"See you guys at Charlie's house," I say, walking towards the car.

I get to the car before Stephanie and wait for her there, watching her say goodbye to her friend, Maisy.

Luke opens the door to the passenger seat but is disrupted by a loud shout.

"Shotgun," I hear Michael screech, racing towards the car.

"I think you made me deaf," Luke whispers, cupping his ears whilst he walked around the open passenger door and towards the backseat door.

"You also scared the living shit out of the rest of the town," Stephanie says, looking surprised.

"I think you can scream louder than me," Ashton said in disbelief.

"That says a lot," Maisy adds, laughing at Ashton's pout.

"You guys can talk when you get to my house," Charlie butts in. "But for now everyone needs to get in this fucking car or else I'll strangle you all."

"Damn," Stephanie mumbles, "someone's on their period."

Charlie glares at her while she holds her arms up in surrender, walking towards the taxi.

Once Stephanie is in the taxi and we're both buckled up the taxi driver speaks in a gruff voice, "Where to?"

I guess we got a grumpy taxi driver then.

"Aldershot TESCO please," Stephanie tells him politely.

I turn to her with a confused look on my face.

She shrugs. "You said you needed to go grocery shopping."

"Oh yeah," I say awkwardly. "Thanks."

Dammit Calum stop being so awkward.
