"So I'll be giving back the tests and I just want to say that I was quite disappointed. I thought most of you would do better, but some of you did exceptionally well."
Our RE teacher walked round the room, handing out all of our tests.
He laid a piece of paper on the desk in front of me as I stared at the percentage written messily in red pen.
71%
Shit.
I was supposed to get over 90%.
Detention for me I guess.
The RE teacher walked away, picking up my school journal on the way, shaking his head.

"What did you get?" Zoe asks me, bursting with joy as soon as I step out of the class.
It was obvious she got a good score because she never asks anyone their score unless she got a good one.
I just shrug in reply, not wanting to tell her my score.
"Well I got 95%," she bragged, smiling widely. "I bet you got a really bad score," she adds, rolling her eyes.
I just shrug my shoulders, not really interested in this conversation as I look for Calum and Luke.
I spot Calum and Luke up ahead, leaning against a wall deep in conversation.
I start walking towards them but Zoe follows me so I turn to her.
"Do you need anything?" I ask, the question coming out bitchier than I meant.
"Nope," she replies simply, continuing to follow me.
Not wanting to deal with that bitch, I walk faster so that her little stick legs can't keep up with me.
"Hey slow down," Zoe whines, trying to catch up with me.
Take a hint.
I don't like you.
"Your boyfriend's over there." I point towards a boy she's been crushing on for years but he doesn't like her.
I manage to loose her in the crowd and I finally reach Luke and Calum.
"About time," Calum exclaims, rolling his eyes.
I roll my eyes back at him and look at the sign above their heads.
Wet paint
I snigger to myself as I look back down at the boys leaning up against the wall that was freshly painted.
"What're you looking at?" Luke asks, turning around to look up at the sign that was above their heads the whole time.
His back had blotches of cream paint that stuck out from the maroon of his blazer.
Calum follows Luke's lead and reads the sign.
They both take of their blazers, taking a look at the paint that is now stained on there.
"Dammit Luke," Calum says. "Why'd you lean against that wall?"
"I leaned against it 'cause you did," Luke shoots back, his hands waving around uselessly.
I laugh at their stupidness and tell them to go to welfare to borrow some spare blazers.
They nod and we walk in separate directions.
