34|| I was wrong
~Stephanie~
Its been a few months since I fell down the stairs and was put in hospital and Luke's been supporting me ever since. He's stuck by my side when Calum made him chose sides and, to my surprise, he chose me; so did Michael.
Obviously, Ashton chose Calum's side and, even though he acts pleasant enough, we don't really hang out anymore.
And Calum. I don't even know who he is anymore.
He's just a completely different person, and I don't like who he's become.
I feel a pair of muscular arms wrap around my waist. "Hey babe," Luke's morning voice croaks as he buries his head in the crook of my neck.
"Hey," I reply, resting my arms on his as a small smile came to my face.
Oh, did I mention Luke and I are boyfriend and girlfriend now? No? Well you know now.
"How's my ugly girlfriend doing this morning?" Luke asks, spinning me around on my chair so that I'm facing him.
"Umm who said I was your girlfriend?" I joke, crossing my arms over my chest.
Luke smirks, looking down at the ring on my finger. "Maybe that promise ring on your finger," he answers, twirling the ring around my finger.
I grin as I pull him into a short kiss before I stand up and go to the kitchen.
Unwillingly, I start washing the dishes as it has started to pile up over the past few days.
After a few minutes of washing there was a knock on the kitchen window.
I look up with a smile, thinking it was Luke.
Instead of those electric blue orbs, I'm met with those familiar chocolate brown eyes that, no matter how much I want to despise of those eyes, I will never despise them as much as I want.
I stand there, staring into those eyes, frozen.
When I eventually snap out of it, I close the blinds and stomp out of the kitchen to the back door and locking it, also closing the curtains.
I go back to washing the dishes, my mind now thinking of those brown eyes.
There's a knocking from the window. "Stephanie, let me in," Calum says, his voice muffled.
I choose to ignore him and continue to wash the dishes.
The knocking continues but still, I ignore it.
"Steph?" I hear Luke ask as he walks into the kitchen. "Is that Calum?"
I sigh, looking over at Luke. "Yeah."
"How the hell did he get into your garden?" Luke exclaims, his eyebrows knitting together.
"I don't know," I say, shrugging.
Luke brings me into a hug, stroking my hair.
"Can we go upstairs?" I ask into his chest, taking in his scent.
He hesitates when Calum continues to knock.
"Come on, Steph," Calum pleads. "Please," he says, sounding so hopeless.
"Let him talk," Luke tells me, looking down at me as he pulls away from me slightly.
"What?!" I ask, starting to panic.
"Just listen, okay?" He says. "You don't have to believe anything he says, you just have to listen," he whispers the last part.
I nod at him and he lets go of me, but not before kissing my forehead and wishing me good luck.
I unlock the back door and step outside into the garden and look over to the boy I have come to terms of taking out of my life.
My eyes meet his and they look dull, so dull that it pains me to look at them.
But, when he finally realised that I'm actually in front of him, they light up and he starts striding towards me.
I take a few steps back without realising and a flash of hurt comes across his face as he stops walking.
"Steph?" Calum asks, sounding absolutely heartbroken.
"Hey Calum," I cough, shifting awkwardly under his gaze.
Calum looks down at his shoes for a second before looking back up at me again.
"I was wrong," he said quietly, a look of guild and shame making its way to his features.
"What?" I ask, taken aback because of what he had just said.
"I was wrong," he says again, louder this time. "I was wrong about Megan, I was wrong about you lying. I was wrong about not trusting you."
He pauses. "I was wrong."
My mouth was agape as my brain was trying to absorb all this information as questions swirled around in my head.
What happened?
Why was Calum acting like this?
What is he trying to tell me?
"I'm sorry, Steph," he apologises, sounding annoyed at himself. "I'm such a fucking idiot for believing in Megan."
I don't know what to do, or what to say.
So I did the only thing I could do.
I walk towards the close-to-tears idiot and wrap my arms around him, trying to comfort him.
I breath in his familiar scent and took in the warmth that came with it.
I've missed this.
"Come on," I whisper, "let's go inside."
I let go of Calum and open the back door as he follows me inside.
Once I've closed the door I look up to see an agitated Luke pacing back and forth inside the kitchen.
"Luke," I say softly, making my way towards him.
His head snaps up in my direction and he visibly calms down as he walks towards me.
"How did it go?" Luke asks me, holding me an arms length away as he looked me dead in the eye.
I shrug, not knowing how to answer him.
Luke looks at me quizzically before his eyes flickered to something behind me whilst wearing a look or uncertainty.
"Your story better be good," Luke threatens Calum, "or else you better get out of this house as fast as possibly fucking can."
