~Stephanie~
I read the words of the book in my hands, but wasn't able to concentrate as my thoughts consumed me.

I took a deep breath in, and by instinct my hand went straight to my blazer pocket. Only to find that my inhaler was missing. I had lost it a couple of days ago, when me and Sandra went ice-skating.

After science was over I managed to avoid Calum and his friend for the rest of the day as it would be really awkward. It wasn't really that hard though, because I think he was trying to avoid me too.

Then, the last and worst thought came to me. What am I going to do when I get home?

I looked around at the lines of desks that lined the detention hall. There was a small, fake cough from the front of the class; my head snapped back to my book. The teacher gave me a glare as I went back to half-reading my book.

If you were wondering, I'm in here for not doing my homework. I actually came here purposely. I would do anything to avoid my own home.

I don't even know if I should call it home. Home. It's suck a strange word to me, as I haven't actually had one I a long time.

The bell rang for the end of my two hour detention and I started to pack my things away slowly. Unlike other people, who packed their things away faster than I was able to blink.

After all my things were back into the safety of my bag, I slowly exited the detention hall, ready for my one and a half hour walk back home.

I would take the bus but I don't have enough money to buy food for myself and pay for the bus. So, I just have to put up with the long journey home.

20 minutes into my journey back home with music blasting in my ears it started to rain. No, I don't mean little drops of rain which you hardly notice, I mean it was literally pouring with rain.

30 minutes into my journey and a car pulls over just in front of me. The sudden pull over received various beeps from the driver behind.

The window rolled down and someone stuck their head out the window. Someone with blonde hair and piercing blue eyes.

"Get in!" Luke shouted over the rain.

"You could be a murderer or something!" I shook my head and continued walking.

"If you don't get in then I'll just get out the car and shove you in!" Someone else shouted, coming from the backseat.

I peered in to see three other boys: the new boys to our school. Luke, Michael, Ashton and of course, Calum. Four against one I mean, that's not even fair.

I hesitated then opened the back door and got in.

"Hi." A boy with curly brown hair and brown eyes smiled at me. "You're Stephanie, right?"

I simply nodded.

"I'm Ashton." Even in this weather he's happy.

"Hey, Ashton." I replied, not knowing what to say.

"Why're you walking in the rain?" Luke butted in before Ashton could speak again.

"Umm... 'Cause I like to?" Saying it as a question than a statement.

I received three glares from the boys, while Calum kept his eyes on the road.

"Fine. I'm walking home." I forced out the word home, the word tasted weird in my mouth.

"And where exactly is home?" Michael crossed his arms.

"Not here?" Again, the statement sounding like a question.

The three of them glared at me once again and I held my hands up I surrender. "Ash Vale. Freaking stalkers." I muttered at the end.

Ashton's mouth gaped at me. "So you walk from school to your home?"

"No Ashton, she flies home." Michael said sarcastically. "Yes, she walks home, you idiot."

"Wait." I realised something, "How come you're driving?" I directed the question to Calum.

"'Cause I can..." Calum sounded like he didn't know how to answer.

"But you have to be 17 or older to get a drivers license..." I stated.

"He's got a fake one." Luke answered for Calum.

"Stephanie, not to be creepy or anything, but... where do you live?" Calum asked.

Should I tell them?

My eyes narrowed. "Ash Vale."

"Yeah, we know that but... where in Ash Vale?"

Might as well.

"Does anyone have Google maps?" I simply asked.

Luke shuffled around a bit, then he handed me his phone. I looked down and saw it was already on google maps so I hesitantly typed in my postcode and handed it back to him.

Calum followed google maps, chatting to Luke from time-to-time while Ashton and Michael fought about unicorns or something like that. The whole fight was actually amusing and I found myself laughing along.

Warning: unedited.

This bit of the story kinda shows the backstory to Stephanie... This is also deeper than normal... But don't worry not all chapters are gonna be like this.

This was incredibly long... But it's kinda boring tbh...
