The Enemy [1]

18: Safe House

I kicked down the back door to the old theater and pushed open the door. Arianna lit her hand on fire so we could see. Emma, me, Alison, Thea, Arianna, Steve, Thor, Johnny, Tony, Sue, Reed, Ben, Nat, Clint, and Bruce entered the building. The smell of mold and dust filled the air. "There's nothing here" Johnny mumbled.
"Wait" I said as I opened the door to the stage. I found the old bookcase and smiled widely. It hasn't been touched in years. I dropped my bag of clothes near the bookcase and felt around for what I wanted. I felt the dent in the wall and smiled. I pressed into the dent and then quickly moved my hand away and the bookcase broke apart into a hidden elevator.
"It's still here" Emma said shocked.
"What is it?" Natasha asked.
"The place where I was trained" I said as I pulled open the elevator, "three at a time. Ben there is a hidden set of stairs. Follow me." Johnny laughed at my words as I showed Ben the hidden stair case under the stage. Alison, Thea and Tony went down the elevator first. When it came back up Emma, Thor and Arianna went in. Then Sue, Bruce and Reed. Nat, Clint and Johnny. I stood next to Steve as we pushed our bags supplies into the elevator.
"I want Tony, you, Thor, Johnny, and Clint to work on barricades and guarding. Contact Fury or Hill do whatever you can. This is our only option right now. There should be at least 8 rooms. There is 15 of us. We can use one room for storage" I said as the two of us stepped into the elevator.
"I'm sorry for misunderstanding you, Jade" Steve said.
"It's fine. This place brings back old memories" I said.
"So you were trained here. That guy... Harrison trained you" Steve said.
"Matthew Harrison. He was such a nice guy" I said.
"What happened to him?" Steve asked.
"Well I'm not sure. He left me with this old note book that said so many things. Maybe he is still alive. I'm not sure" I said as the doors opened again and we stepped put with our surprise. Memories rushed back to me as I looked at the hallway of rooms and at the end was the kitchen, training room, and bathroom. I stared at the old boxing ring where I remember Matthew teaching me how to punch. I couldn't help but smile as the old memories played in my head. Emma placed a hand on my shoulder as I walked into the room where I once slept after training. The room looks exactly like I remembered it. The bunk bed against the wall with baby blue sheets neatly tucked and with two pillows on each bed. The wooden dresser off to the side. I dropped the bag and looked around. There on the dresser was a note.

Dear Jade,
I knew you'd come back after so many years. I made sure that everything is working. Make sure that Emma gets the new weapon I made her. It's hidden under the boxing ring. And also turn the right knob on the top drawer, a secret closet will open. I made you a new suit.

I turned the knob and the wall opened up. There mounted against the wall was a dark purple catsuit with the silver katana blades forming an X on the back. I smiled widely at the new mask that would cover my mouth and nose. Dark purple combat boots sat under the suit. Weapons lined on the walls. I noticed a knife lying on the dresser next to the note. It was silver with a black handle and a emerald green gem on the bottom of the handle. I walked out of the room and closed the door behind me.
"Alright so I guess we need to figure out who's sharing rooms?" I said pulling out a chair from the table. Steve had his back pressed against the counter with his arms crossed over his chest. Johnny was sitting on the edge of the boxing ring. Arianna was beside Thea and Clint. Tony was sitting at the table with Alison. I guess he's getting use to the fact he's her dad. Bruce nervously fumbling with his thumbs. Reed and Sue stood near Johnny. Ben was beside Reed. Nat and Emma were putting food into the cabinets.
"I'll share with Jade" Johnny said slowly sliding off the boxing ring with a smirk.
"When did that happen?" Ben asked as Steve raised an eyebrow when Johnny put his arm around me. Was Cap jealous?
"Me and Reed will share" Sue said.
"I can sleep out here" Ben said.
"I'll share with Lady Emma" Thor said making me smile. Emma's face turned bright red when those words escaped Thor's mouth.
"Me and Thea could share" Arianna said grabbing her bag.
"I guess me and Ally could share" Tony said as he wrapped a bandage around Alison's injured leg. When did he start calling her Ally?
"Me and Bruce can share" Nat said smiling. When did that happen? I thought she was with Clint? Nevermind.
"I guess Clint and Steve gets their own rooms" I said.
"YES!" Clint said happily.
"That means we have a one room for storage" I said smiling.
"Good" Tony said.
"Alright. The next option we have is the safe house Clint was talking about" Steve said.
"That room is my room!" I yelled pointing to a bedroom and started walking to it. Johnny following behind. I opened the door and walked in. Johnny closed the door and dropped his bag near the dresser. I opened the top drawer and filled my clothes into it. I watched as Johnny laid on the bottom bunk and got comfortable.
"You're already comfortable" I said.
"Well I had a pretty good view when you were putting clothes away" he said smiling.
"No" I said.
"No what?" He asked.
"I'm not gonna be one of those girls. You're a player" I said.
"What if I said I stopped?" He asked.
"Still wouldn't because you lie" I said climbing up the ladder to the top bunk.
"There's another guy" he said standing up.
"No" I lied. I guess you could say I have a little thing for Cap. I'm too young for him.
"You're lying" he said smiling his famous smile, "just one kiss and then I'll never bother you again." I rolled my eyes and crawled back down the ladder.
"One kiss?" I asked holding up one finger.
"One kiss" he said.
"I can't believe I'm doing this" I said cupping his face in my hands. I pulled him down to my level and planted a kiss on his soft lips.
"Hey Jade can I-" a voice said making me and Johnny stop kissing and I looked over at the door to see Thea, Natasha, Emma and Arianna.
"YOU ALL OWE ME $10!" Emma yelled excitedly.
"What?" Johnny asked.
"We bet money on when you two would kiss" Natasha said as I bit my lip.
"I shouldn't have bet money on Cap!" Thea said.
"WAIT WHAT?!" Steve asked from the kitchen making me laugh. Emma took $10 from Arianna, Thea and Natasha with a big smile. Never make a bet with Emma. She always wins.
