I break the last inch of lead I had left in my mechanical pencil, and drop it in frustration. I couldn't stand Algebra, I really couldn't stand math period, it's my worst subject. I look up into the camera on my ipad, and see that Xander had fallen asleep. It's already 10 P.M. and of course I was up all night doing homework I didn't even learn about. I just shut my binder and tell myself I don't care. I take my ipad and walk over to my bed, and soon falling asleep on the call.

.

I wake up to notice that my ipad had died as I was sleeping, so I decide to text Xander before I leave for school. I could feel my stomach rumble like an earthquakes after shock, so I hurry and get ready then make my way downstairs, hoping my mom had made breakfast once again. Some strange reason, there was no breakfast like normal, there was no mom nor Greg either. I walk notice that there was a piece of paper left on the door. "She went out to breakfast...and left her child home with nothing, makes sense." I mutter to myself as I crumble the piece of paper and throw it to the ground, and strut out the door.

.

My stomach would not stop making noises, and I started getting over heated. It felt as if everyone could hear the sound of my stomach, and just gave me weird looks. I keep looking back and forth hoping no one was looking, but as I walk forwards and looking everywhere but where I was going, I bump into a water fountain. I could already feel my face getting red, I tried playing it off as if I stopped to get a drink.

"I saw that." I hear a deep voice behind me. I turn to see it is the Calum kid who could never remember my name. I send him an awkward laugh as he had a weird smile implanted on his face. I don't know why but this kid makes me feel uncomfortable. I wanted to say something but didn't know what to say. I then felt my stomach groan and I look up at him in a bit of fear, and he sends a confused look back. "You ok-" He tries asking but the bell rang just in time. I just send him a short wave and quickly turn, dodging the water fountain and make my way to first period.

Since I was in such a rush to get to class, and avoid the whole water fountain thing, I was the first person in the classroom. I set my stuff down and look at my phone to see if I had any texts, not one. I quickly put my phone away as I see the color red in the distance. "Hey Brynn." Michael smiles. I smile back, and stand from my seat. He makes his way over to take a seat, but he hesitates.

"Whats wrong?" I ask. He scans the room confused, and looks down.

"What was that noise?" He replies. I felt my heart drop, as I let out a little embarrassment laugh, knowing it was my stomach. "Was that your stomach?" He chuckles looking down at me. I lightly nod my head. "I have a granola bar in my locker if you want to come with me to get it." He offers. I then felt my face light up, excited to finally get food into my stomach. I nod my head, and he motions for me to follow him.

As we were walking to his locker, he continued to make small talk, asking about my life outside of school, and my classes. He told me he struggles in History, and I told him about me struggling in Algebra. He brought up some kid named Luke who was really good in that subject considering his mom teaches it. When we got to his locker the blonde boy from the other day was already standing there. He was too occupied on his phone, and didn't even notice we were walking his way. He opened his locker and grabbed the granola bar, and shut his locker. He held it out as if he were about to give it to me until, "hey thanks." The blonde boy says as he takes the bar out from Michael's grip. I didn't want to say anything, so I just sat there and acted as if it didn't phase me. Michael just scolded him, as he took his first bite, "what?" He says with an attitude. "I texted you saying I was hungry." He adds on.

"That was actually meant for Brynn." Michael sad in an awkward tone. The boy just looks up at me and then at Michael, and takes another bite.

"Okay?" He simply replies. Michael just rolls his eyes and apologizes to me. "Listen, Here. You can have the rest." He says taking the bar out of the rapper and holding it out for me to grab.

"I don't share food." I say in a softer tone. He just shrugs and takes the last bite. I look at Michael who is still staring at the boy.

"Luke. You owe her." Michael says. So this is the Luke boy, I would have expected him to have, more respect.

"It's okay, it just a granola bar, I can wait until lunch." I say, it really wasn't a big deal, but I was still hungry. Luke just looks at me and nods towards Michael agreeing with me.

"No seriously. She's actually struggling in Algebra, you should help her."

"I don't tutor." Luke quickly replies. His eyes then focus back onto his phone.

"Come on, you tutored that one chick Grace." Michael put out.

"That's because Grace is hot, I'd tutor her in anything if I she asked me." He casually says with his attention still focused on his phone. I didn't know how I was suppose to take that response so like always I just stand there moving my eyes side to side as both of them had their conversation, wondering if we were ever going back to class.

Finally it was the end of the day, and I was still waiting for my mom to answer my texts and calls, it was no use because soon it just sent me to voice mail. I smack my phone against my leg, lately she's been acting as if I were invisible. The school was already half empty and the only people here we those in clubs. I noticed a familiar figure coming out of the building, it was Calum with a black haired girl, it was Tarin. I stand and wave to both of them, and they make their way over to me.

"What you still hanging around here for?" Tarin asks. I just roll my eyes and look down at my phone.

"My mom is suppose to pick me up, but she never decides to answer her phone." I explain. She just nods her head and looks up at Calum.

"Maybe Calum could drive you, we're heading home anyways. Then again, His mom may get mad he gets home a bit late." She says with a little tease at the end as she laughs at him. He just rolls his eyes and smiles.

"She's your mom too." He replies, I couldn't tell what type of tone he was using. Tarin just pushes him a little. "But yeah I can drive you home, just lead the way." He smiles. Since he wasn't acting like he would when I saw him inside of school, I wasn't too uncomfortable, he was actually acting as if he were "tamed." I nod my head and we all head over to his car.

.

When I get home I check my phone once again, hopping to see text messages from Xander, but all I got were two heart emojis. Normally when he just sends emoji's he's upset or doesn't know what to say. I start to call him on FaceTime, but he hung up, and texted me, "had to stay after school, I'll text you when I get home." I push my hair back and reply, "alright, I love you." He read it and replied "Ilyt." I had a weird feeling in my stomach, but I tried pushing it away and texted Tarin to see what she was up too.

.

I wake up, and notice my face was implanted on a pile of paper. I heard a muffled voice coming from a phone I was guessing. I look down at my Ipad and notice Michael was still on FaceTime. "How long have I been out?" I ask with a sick sounding voice.

"about 30 minutes." He replies. All I could hear coming from him was multiple clicks, like a controller, he was obviously playing a video game. I then remember that Xander said he would text me so I quickly grab my phone, to see an empty lock screen. I sigh and place my phone on my desk.

"Hey Michael, I'll see you tomorrow, I have to help my mom with something." I lie, I just wasn't up for talking anymore, I felt a bit down.

"Alright, see you later." He replies, and with that we both hang up. I lean back into my chair and look at the ceiling. Then a sudden knock came to my door.

"Come in." I reply. I look over to see my mom standing in my doorway. I just send an awkward smile to her. "Yes?"

"Just seeing how you're doing. How are you and Xander?" She asks.

"Fine. I guess." I couldn't talk to my mom the way I used to, it just felt weird, and as if she really didn't care.

"Are you okay?"

"Yes, I'm just going to sleep now. Night." I say ending the conversation. She just smiles and walks out the door. "Yup, everything's just fine."
