It was finally the last week of junior year, and things were a mess as usual. Michael and Kylie were still fighting, and it had already been two weeks. Carson hated Michael when they first started dating, just imagine how he feels about him now. Kylie told him that Michael cheated on her, so now Carson and the rest of the jocks had targeted him. Calum had tried to keep the ones he was friends with from soccer under control. Yet, that didn't stop the rest of them from going after Michael.

"Dinner tomorrow? My place?" Carter asked loudly, and caused me to lose my train a thought. I turned my head to see Carter against her locker, with Luke hovering above her. Oh, Luke and Carter were a thing now. I watched her hand gripped onto his jacket, and his lips cracked into a smile. In that moment, I swear I had to be possessed. I scoffed. Instantly grabbing their attention, "I have a cold." I mumbled over dramatically, before clutching my throat as if it hurt.

"Oh look Michael." I called out, and pointed in his direction before scurrying off. Michael looked pissed off as usual these days, and I nudged my elbow into his side. He looked down at me, and I smiled attempting to cheer him up. Like always it didn't make him feel any better, "Has anything happened to you today?" I questioned as I checked his face, and anywhere that could be bruised. Michael was a pretty tough guy, and it wasn't like he was short anything. Yet, that didn't really mean anything when he was up five of himself.

"Brynn, I'm fine." Michael snapped, and started walking in another direction. So I continued to chase after him, even if that meant slamming into a few people along the way. Finally I caught up to him, and grabbed him by the wrist, "No your not, Michael..." I pleaded, but he just shrugged off my hold. I watched as he faded into the crowd, and then I was left standing in the middle of the hallway all alone.

"Have you seen Calum anywhere?" I questioned as I walked up to Luke who was standing in front of Carter's locker. It was lunch time, and usually Calum walked with me to the cafeteria. Yet, I couldn't find him anywhere this morning. Luke just shrugged his shoulders, and I was about to dismiss him as worthless, "How's your cold?" He called out, and caught me off guard.

"What cold?" The words came out of my mouth before I could fully think it through. Once I realized I messed up, I began to cough and clutch my throat again, "Oh, this cold." I chuckled nervously. Then I attempted to seem busy by opening up my locker, and shuffling around my books. For some reason, Luke just kept standing there just adding to the tension, "Brynn, sorry I was busy." Calum came out of nowhere abruptly, before grabbing me by the waist and leaving a quick kiss on the top of my head.

Luke adjusted the collar of his shirt, and looked down at his phone for a quick moment, "Carter texted me, I got to go." Then he walked off into the empty hallway, until he was out of sight. I shrugged out of Calum's hold, and instead grabbed his hand, "What were you busy with?" I questioned as we began walking towards the cafeteria. Calum stayed silent, almost acting as if he didn't hear me. So I tried my best to just shrug it off, and continue on, "Are you excited about the party tonight?" I asked trying to brush off the last question, and lighten the mood.

"Actually, I don't know if I'm going..." Calum mumbled lightly, almost hoping I wouldn't notice. I stopped walking causing my hand to yank him towards him. He stumbled for a second before catching his balance, "What do you mean?" I pouted, but it didn't seem to do much for him. He just started walking again, and dragged me along, "My mom is getting back from Chicago." Calum explained, and I simply nodded. We had reached the lunch table, and took our regular seats.

"So you're not going anymore right?" Calum questioned, as he took a bit of us food. I looked up from my own food with a confused, unsettling look, "Of course, I'm still going to go." I chuckled, but Calum's face didn't change. I narrowed my eyebrows at him, and set my sandwich back down onto the table.
