Aphmau's pov

"Hey, wanna travel with me?"

Garroth asked. I looked at him and he rubbed the back of his neck and blushed. "I-I mean, you wouldn't wanna get hurt from bandits or something.....heh." He trailed off and I furrowed my eyebrows. "How do I know if you're not a bandit?" I asked and Garroth's eyes widened. "Ah, here." He grabbed my hand and put a dagger on the palm of my hand.

He smiled and I started to laugh. "Hahaha! Okay, I'll trust you." I said with a smile and he blushed. "I'll go get some food for the trip." He said with a smile and I nodded. Garroth left and I couldn't help but think why does his name sound so familiar? I shook my head thinking nothing of it and I took a deep breath. "Hey, I got a nice amount of food." Garroth said as he handed me a sack full of bread.

"Thank you." I said with a smile and he blushed. "So, why are you out here in Chocolate village?" I stiffened and said "U-Um......my parents tried to make me marry someone I don't love or heck, even know." I looked at him and he let out a small laugh. "Huh. That's funny. My parents tried the same thing." Garroth said and I smiled. "Why are parents like that?" I asked and he shrugged his shoulders.

"Okay, so, where are you headed?" He asked and I said "I was on my way to Scaleswind." He smiled but his eyes seemed like he didn't want to go there. Then, he let out a gasp and grabbed me by the shoulders and jumped into the bushes next to the stable. "What are you--" I yelled but then he shushed me. I quit talking and he peeked over the bushes.

"What are you doing?" I whispered and Garroth said "We need to leave. NOW." He seemed really upset and he grabbed my hand. "Let's go!" He yelled as he started to run. "Hey! There he is!" I heard someone yell and I looked behind me and saw about ten O'khasis guards chasing after us. "What the heck is going on!?" I yelled as we ran through the forest.

"I'm sorry! Just run!" Garroth yelled not letting go of my hand. Then, we took sharp turn and I could hear one of the guards yell "Split up!" I was starting to get dizzy and Garroth kept running. "G-Garr.....oth....w-wai....." I was gasping for air trying to get Garroth to stop but I was so out of breath I couldn't speak. I gripped the dagger in my hand and knew this was the only way.

I cut the back of his hand and he yelled. "Ow!" He let go and stopped. I fell to my knees and felt my vision darken. "I-I.....m....sor....ry." Was all I said before passing out.

"Aphmau!"
