Chapter: 3- Temptations
⚽James' POV⚽
I couldn't believe this. No words could describe just how furious I was at this moment. She'd gone way too far, way too far this time, and I wasn't about to let it slide.
After Sarah had left the cafeteria I stormed up to Brittany grasping her shoulders until she was turned around facing me. I was wondering if she was happy, happy with all she was putting Sarah through, but the look on her face clearly conveyed regret and guilt.
And all I could think was that she had no right to feel this way. Not after all she'd put Sarah through when she could have stopped at any point.
"Are you satisfied with every you've done? Huh, Brittany?" My voice came out thick, with an underlying tone of fury, and looking closely I could see Brittany shaking a little at my voice. That's right, be afraid, this way you can never hurt her again...
Yet instead of a voice of sadness and begging, I heard one completely different. "A-actually." Brittany cleared her throat. "Actually I am quite satisfied, ecstatic really." Smirking she stared at me, not a hint of emotion showing through her carefully applied makeup face.
For a moment I was tempted to think I didn't see it, but then for a second, no even less than that, Brittany's barrier went down, and for that millisecond I swear I saw regret, regret, and guilt. But as quick as I was able to see it, it was gone and her hard expression replaced it. Yet it was still enough. Enough for me to see the real Brittany.
"You know you don't have to do this anymore right?" Lowering my voice, I looked around as I felt almost every pair of eyes in the room currently focused on us. I wasn't doubting that by tomorrow we'd be crowned the new "it" couple.
And even though I was only trying to help her before she fell even deeper into the hole she was burying herself in, I was rewarded by her snarl. "What, I don't need to bully the fat cow anymore? No at that you're wrong, I'm just helping her out, giving her fashion hints and all."
"So telling her she looks like a bear that swallowed an elephant in her clothes is you just 'helping' her?" My voice dripped with sourness, and I blank faced her.
"Yes. It is, low life people like her, ugly, fat, worthless need to be helped so they know what they're doing isn't cute, isn't attractive. And that's where beautiful nice, and amazing popular people like us come in. We're the same, you and I, so we should stick together and forget about that ugly hippo." Smiling a hundred megawatt smile, she waited while I fumed inside.
It wasn't worth it. She's too far gone, can't even tell the difference between good and bad, she's too blinded by popularity. By wanting to reach the top, she left all that matters at the bottom. Shaking my head, I began to walk backward, my eyes still on Brittany's as I muttered my last few words.
"And no, Brittany we are not the same. So scratch this us in bringing Sarah down, because I'll play no part in it. Unlike you, I don't care about my popularity. I don't care who my friends are and if they'll make me look bad. I know I will stick by them until the end. The difference is I'd do that. And you, you just proved you wouldn't, that you didn't."
Brittany seemed shocked, shell shocked as her mouth was gaping open and she seemed to be having trouble piecing together her words. Turning around I began to walk towards the exit of the cafeteria, so done with this right now.
"James! That's -that's b-because you're a boy!" Laughing I completely stopped in my tracks, turning to Brittany once more.
"No Britt. It has nothing to do with gender, it has to do with what your character really is like, and from everything I can tell you're horrible and stupid. Oh, and one more thing, you'd better stop this, before I stop it myself." Turning away, this time I left the cafeteria without any other distractions. I'd finally decided, I was tired of watching Sarah be beaten down because of how she looked, I'd thought that she'd realize already that she was beautiful.
That her curvaceous figure made so many heads turn, that her beautiful face grasped everyone's attention in a five mile radius, that her full lips were so kissable, her big doe eyes so adorable, her generous breasts and behind so irresistible, her hips so squeezable, and just the right shape and size to be within my hands...Groaning with where my thoughts were heading, I shook my head, trying to remove the beautiful goddess from my head.
Although she may not see it, she was tempting, a little too tempting for me. But if I had to, I would help her see it. I was tired of seeing her sucking up to all that they threw at her, tired of waiting for her to change, I'd have to help her grow some confidence and a backbone, and I could start by talking to her. But I didn't doubt it would be hard, I was sure she thought of me just like the others and I wouldn't blame her, after all, all I'd ever done was watch her get bullied. But I was done with watching, and being disappointed when she let it happen again.
I was going to become her shield, and I'd gladly shield her from all the names and bullies if that meant I had at least five minutes in her presence. If I just heard her say my name once, felt her body pressed to mine, her lips on my own... I groaned again, if I really wanted to help I guess the first thing I'd need to do is get my head out of the gutter.
Walking out of the school I didn't care if I didn't finish the rest of the school day. I'd come back later when it was time for practice but otherwise, I really did not give a damn. I didn't need any help in my studies and I had things to do. Walking out to the parking lot, I walked up to my baby, Scarlett.
She was an all black Camaro, and not too long ago I had just had a fresh new coat of paint put on her. She was sleek, yet beautiful and fast. This was Scarlett and not just anyone got the privilege to drive, or even ride in her. But for some reason I found my thoughts on one curvy beauty who would look stunning sitting in my car, her brown hair framing her face as she lay spread out on the seat-
I really need to stop thinking about these things. Sighing I unlocked the car door and getting in I took a moment to clear my head before I started the engine and began the drive home. On the way, I stopped when I saw a familiar figure walking down the street. Sarah.
Slowing down I drove the car to her side, rolling down the window I waited until I had her attention before speaking. "Get in. You shouldn't be walking around here, it's dangerous." Then I unlocked the doors.
