Chapter: 38- Auntly Duties

A/N👑: Well, I most definitely have a new computer now, even if I am not sure on how to use it fully yet. It's nice and going to take a few years to pay off (that's for sure). So sorry this took so long to get out. I actually had to buy a new computer 'cause I broke my last one.

Sarah's POV

I sighed as I finally put the last box of supplies we'd ordered into the bakery storage room. Lately, we had been running pretty low on piping bags, bags for treats and a couple other things so my dad had finally caved and bought some new supplies. Unfortunately, though, I had had to bring everything in when it arrived because my mom was out front tending to customers, my dad was baking, and since it was Franny's checkup for being four months Sam and her were at her appointment.

"Sarah are you done yet?! I need your help up here!" Sighing I quickly went up to the front where my mom was being drowned in orders. I really loved this bakery with everything in me, but I also hated the fact that when we were busy, we were really busy. It made sense though, all of my family had put their heart and soul into making pastries, and the shop was always being worked in. If we weren't quite successful I would be really shocked. Yet we were, and after years of the business running smoothly, along with decades of family recipes, we were still doing as good as we were years ago.

I quickly got behind the counter with my mom while I took over her spot of asking people what they would like and my mother quickly bagged orders. It was about two hours later when the bustle and rush of everything finally quieted down and Franny and Sam walked into the building. I was very relieved to see them, it wasn't so they could take over my shift though. Rush hour had already ended so they were actually quite useless now, but at Franny's appointment today they had finally gotten the news of if I was going to be an aunt to a little niece or nephew.

"Soo....?" My mother was the first to address the news, staring at the couple in expectation while she lifted a brow. "Am I gonna be the grandma of a little boy or girl?"

Franny and Sam stared at each other before turning around with smirks on their faces. "We're not telling." My mom's jaw dropped so low I was sure it'd come unhinged until she started to ramble desperately.

"B-but that's, that's not fair!" I only laughed at the situation. Although I was a little disappointed I also had a hunch this was going to happen. Franny had been going on and on lately about how she just loved gender reveal parties so I knew she wanted to have one. As if to reiterate my point Franny began to wave a sealed envelope in front of my face.

"Sarah we decided to keep the gender a secret. But we want you to be the first to find out what we're having." She stopped to give me a short smile before continuing on. "We decided we want to have a gender reveal party, so I was hoping you'd be willing to make the arrangements over revealing it to us? I mean you don't have to but- I know this isn't anyway to make it up to you."

Franny took a short breath as her eyes began to tear up, and I was finding it hard to just look at her torment herself over what had already happened. "I- Sarah what I'm trying to say is that I'd be honored if you'd please do this for us." I left her waiting for a while as I thought over everything.

But honestly, I couldn't hold in my excitement. The grin spread over my face at the fact that I'd be the only one knowing the gender of the baby until the party and not someone else. Nodding my head I sent them both a wide smile letting them know I agreed, before we headed into the back of the bakery together.
