Chapter: 14- "You're MINE!"
❤Sarah's POV❤
Five seconds. That was all that was need for everything around me to turn to chaos. As I stood there, anticipating the impact of Brittany's fist on my face my eyes had instinctively closed shut, I felt myself finch as I braced myself for the impact. The impact that never came. Opening my eyes slowly I was shocked at what I saw in front of my face.
Brittany's fist was clenched tightly, yet it was in the palm of someone else's hand, someone who had saved me from receiving the blow. Following the strong hand, I moved up the arm, noticing the distinctive line of muscles that flexed as I traveled up them. I wasn't dumb enough to miss who the arm belonged to though, actually I was pretty sure I could tell just with this persons hands in my face. After all, there was only one person around this school who had multiple tattoos littering up and down their body, and I wouldn't be lying if I didn't miss the shape of the hand itself. I'd practically had my own glued to it the last week.
James. Looking up I followed his arm all the way to his face, not shocked at all at the expression he was wearing. He looked infuriated, his nostrils flaring as he stared coldly at Brittany. Honestly I'd be terrified if that gaze was pointed at me, so I did applaud her at the way she didn't even flinch at his gaze.
I watched as his jaw clenched, before he slowly lowered his arm, releasing Brittany's hand from the strong clutch if his own. "I told you about messing with her Brittany. I don't like to repeat myself, but I can tell already that, that is apparently what I have to do." James moved away from me, his strong intimidating frame appearing in front of Brittany where he leaned down until he was her height, sneering in her face. "Leave. Her. Alone. Next time you do this, and trust me I will find out, the outcome won't be as pretty."
By now we had attracted a small crowd, James pulling me along with him as Brittany stood there in shock, left shaking as James backed away from her. He pulled me past everyone and I had to admit it, I was shocked that he'd done that. He practically dragged me to the parking lot before he opened the passenger side of his car, depositing me in it before he went around the car to get in himself.
It was then I realized what was happening. James had left his game with me, better yet he'd left in the middle of it and hadn't even thought to change out of his sweaty uniform, not that it didn't look good on him or anything, its just that it's almost winter and here he was in shorts and a jersey running around. Like that he could get a cold or something...
Oh and to make matters worse, he'd left after he'd pulled his girlfriend away from getting in a fight with the most popular cheerleader in the whole school. Do you know how much damage I had practically caused just by not backing down to Brittany? We would practically be the only topic of discussion at school on Monday, and honestly I didn't want to deal with all that bull-crap.
Looking over at James I watched his stoic profile, watching as his jaw clenched, his grip on the steering wheel tightened until his knuckles were white, until finally he cursed. Pulling to the side of the road, he turned the car off, laying his head against the steering wheel he took a few deep breaths before turning to me, rage in his eyes.
