Sarah's POV

The next day James picked me up for school. Like always he asked for a morning kiss, which I was beginning to realize I couldn't get out of no matter how I was feeling, and everything else after that seemed like it had previously before anything happened. I guess we were going to move on from the whole Brittany and him being together thing, well even if we weren't I wasn't going to be the one to bring it up, that would just be awkward.

Though I did know that I was eventually going to have to deal with Brittany, whether I wanted to or not. Things always seemed easier saying them than the actual physical work required to do a task. I'd only wished I realized this years before so I wouldn't have even gotten involved with Brittany and had to go through all that I had. It hurt me more knowing that she used to be the closest friend I had for years than the actual fact that she did what she did to me.

I had decided to wear my usual outfit, a pair of skinny blue jeans with a v-neck t-shirt that I finally remembered to cover with one of my GAP hoodies. Paired with some black Converses and I was ready to go, and James was dressed similarly with some black jeans, a pair of Roshes and a white sleeveless t-shirt with random designs covered with a GAP hoodie he owned.

The ride to the school was pretty quick, and soon enough we were both walking down the halls of the school, our hands entwined while the usual petty gossip drowned out most of the sound around us. I was talking to James, telling him about how my classes were going as he kept trying to ask what I had for breakfast, which I ignored because I hadn't exactly eaten breakfast again that morning when I saw her. Brittany was weaving her way through the hallways, wearing her regular designer jeans with six inch heels and a crop top that was a stupid idea because she was practically bare-it was the frickin' middle of December for Christ's sake!

I was wondering when the time was I could finally confront her on the note was, and it seemed this was amazingly enough, just perfect timing. As crazy as it seems she was walking through the crowd, with her head down as it seemed she was heading to the bathroom, unlike most of the time she was by herself, that posse of hers nowhere to be found, and I doubted they'd be meeting in the bathroom. The bathrooms at this school were just plain disgusting, and the only time people used them were in encase of extreme emergencies. There were definitely no people asking to go to the bathroom in the middle of class here to skip, please it was punishment enough just thinking you were going there.

Since my attention was completely focused on watching Brittany move through the crowd like a hawk I missed when James stopped walking, bumping carelessly into his back when he stopped. "Sorry." Though the word slipped out of my mouth my gaze was still focused on Brittany- I needed to speak to her now, it seemed like there was no better time to do so before I lost my courage to do it.

"What's wrong?" James hadn't seemed to mind I had practically bull-dozed him, instead his gaze curiously following what was in my line of sight, and when I told him I could faintly see out of my peripheral vision a hint of a frown graze his features.
