Warnings: there's a bit of angst in the beginning but after that it's fluff with a happy ending for once

"Ellington, this happens everytime! We argue over nothing! We don't need this." Rydel says, running her hands through her hair in frustration as she screamed at her boyfriend.

He could be so frustrating sometimes. He moped about all the hate he got, then expected Rydel to not defend him or attempt to cheer him up. That was what lead to this argument. Though Rydel knew this was the last straw.

"Rydel, I am capable of defending myself! All of it is my problem. I'm sure they're actually nice people in real life who just have self-esteem issues." Ellington says for probably the tenth time that night about the people who literally told him to kill himself.

"Ellington, I'm done! I'm done trying to stick up for you like a real friend, and then you turn around and basically tell me I'm unappreciated. Ellington, I get the memo. You're not very subtle about it to begin with." Rydel replies angrily, causing Ellington to groan in frustration.

"If you're that done, then be done Rydel! Break up with me. I dare you. Because you always say that, and instead you storm to our room and mope to yourself. Then you come running back once you're over it. It's not as if you'll actually do it." Ellington says, instantly regretting what he says as he feels a sting in his cheek from Rydel slapping him. He would admit that he deserved it for speaking so lowly of her.

"It's your room now, Ellington. We're done. For good this time. We can stay friends for the sake of the band, but romance wise? We're done. And don't come running after me since you're tired of me coming back." And with that, she left for real this time.

And it felt amazing. At first, anyway. For the first couple of days, she was in general happy to be away from him. But then she began to feel lonesome. She wasn't exactly missing him; it was just that she was so used to his presence, it was weird for it to not be there. She knew she wouldn't be able to get away again if she went back to him, so she stayed away. For what she thought was good.

"Elizabeth Rydel Lynch, why is your dinner still sitting on the table uneaten?" Rydel yells up the stairs to her only daughter, Elizabeth, as she enters the kitchen to see her daughters good untouched with her daughter nowhere in sight.

"Mommy, I'm not hungry. Uncle Riker let me have yogurt while you were gone." Elizabeth says as she enters the kitchen, almost bouncing on her small feet.

"I told Uncle Riker we were having dinner." Rydel says in frustration, picking up her daughter and placing her on her hip. At six years old, Elizabeth was soon going to be too big for this. Though she was small now, she wasn't going to be small for long; she had great genetics playing in her favor.

"He told me to keep it a secret. Oops." Elizabeth replies as she giggles, covering her mouth as if she had just told the worlds greatest secret.

"Well then, we're going to put some special stuff in his body wash. Though you can't tell him. It's a secret." Rydel says as she grabs food coloring to put in Riker's body wash. She would use hair dye, but she decided that was too mean.

Her daughter squirms slightly on her hip, giggling slightly as she does so. Her mother had done this in the past; she knew it would be funny.

As they enter the bathroom, Elizabeth climbs down from Rydel's arms, sitting down on the lid of the toilet as she watched her mother put a few drops of food coloring into Riker's already blue body wash.

"Now we wait for Uncle Riker to take a shower." Rydel says, grabbing her daughter's hand as she sat the body wash back on the shelf in the shower.

At 22, Rydel had found out she was pregnant with Elizabeth. At first, she was devastated and in no way happy. Though she didn't want anyone to know, so she only told Riker. At first, he believed it was a joke. Especially when he found out who the father was. He hadn't known that Rydel and Ellington were secretly dating at the time; they had everyone believing they were living as only roommates and nothing more. It definitely came as a shock to Riker. So instead of disowning his sister, he called things off with the band and found a small three bedroom house they could rent together. Riker helped Rydel raise Elizabeth, and was the closest thing Elizabeth had to a father.

Rydel hadn't seen Ellington in years; no one even knew hers and Riker's real reasoning behind calling it quits on the band. Her brothers thought she had adopted Elizabeth, and that Riker wanted to live with them in order to help raise Elizabeth. They had no idea she had Lynch blood inside of her.

Rydel was not expecting what happened that day; it wouldn't have happened had she not let Elizabeth play on her phone.

"Mommy? Someone's knocking on the door." Her daughter says, entering the room with her mother's phone.

"I'll answer it." Rydel replies, putting down her book and climbing off of her bed. She makes her way to the door and is shocked to see who is standing on the other side.

"Ellington." She didn't say it like a question. Her voice made a statement with no emotion. Ellington was shocked too; he hadn't been expecting to see her. Why hadn't Riker warned him?

"Rydel." He replies, waving awkwardly at her. As he was beginning to talk once again, a small voice came from behind her as an Oh shit look crossed Rydel's face.

"Mommy, who's at the door?" The voice of a little girl asked.

"Nothing, Ellie." Rydel replies to her daughter, now smiling nervously at Ellington.

"Come in. I have some things to explain."

"I am so sorry, I ever left you." Ellington says, hugging Rydel timidly, not sure if she would accept it.

"It's okay, Ell." She replies, hugging him back gently.

"I want to be there for both of you from now on. Maybe we could even get back together in the future." Ellington knew he was testing the limits, as it had been six years, but he also knew that he at least had to try.

"Maybe." Rydel replies, now smirking at him.

As they begin to lean towards eachother, they hear a shout from the other room. Specifically the bathroom.

"Why the fuck am I blue!?"

Elizabeth giggles as she enters the room.

"Uncle Rikey looks like a smurf." And with that, Ellington kissed Rydel on her lips. As they pulled away, they all burst out laughing as Elizabeth hugged her father for the first time.

Sorry for the rushed ending I was gonna write out the whole argument but then I had to go somewhere so yeah... This one was relatively long, over 1,100 words, and I'm quite proud of myself for that. All I've been posting is short ones. You're welcome. Anyway, I hope all of you enjoyed.
