What up y'all. 👋🏽 I just got done writing this part. Who'd a thunk that a chapter wouldn't take so long? You usually have one or two pages of story but no. I made it big. 😂 Anyway, we're finally at the part that we've all wanted, ya da ya da ya..... Ok. Here we go. Let's do this guys.

1780- A sailor in the crows nest spotted the black shadow of land spike above the gray foggy mist. The Aquila drifted slowly through the dark water beneath them. Connor moved the ship closer to the land so that they could escape more easily if they would need to. He selected men from the crew to arm themselves and prepare to go ashore. The longboats were released and men went inside them. Benjamin Franklin would stay behind and mind things on the ship. Connor went into the longboat after Faulkner and Eva. Two more longboats were used with men in them as well. Muskets were passed from one man to another. Then, when all was situated, they began to row into the foggy mist. The Aquila disappeared from their site.
Waves washed upon the white sand of the shore and men pulled the boats up onto the sand. The woods were seen in front of the company, and no one could see through its darkness. Lanterns were lit and the group quickly came together. Connor looked around and made sure everyone was there. Faulkner came to Connor and said, "Go on, lad. Lead the way." Connor rolled his eyes and unsheathed his sword. Then he led the group into the darkness of the ghostly forest.
The forest was dark and cold. The men could see their breath as they walked through the woods. A crow was heard making noise from far off into the woods. The company just kept moving. "God Almighty," said Faulkner, " we've gone and been condemned already." Eva stood and followed right behind Connor. He was listening very carefully to what was around him. Then a twig snapped from not among the group. They all stopped in their tracks. Connor used his quick senses. "Everyone stay low into the bushes," he ordered in a hushed voice. Everyone ducked down and hid in the bushes and became part of the darkness. Silence was all around.
But then the faintest noises were heard. The men cocked and readied their rifles and the noises sounded like howls and rants. They became fainter and fainter and fainter. Until finally, it wasn't heard at all. "The witches," said one of the men. "There's a whole coven of them deeper into the forest." Another said, "Bodes ill for us if we insult one of them, mates. They're known to kill even the fiercest of Indian tribes. Aye. Be it, no redskin ever could escape their wrath." Connor rolled his eyes.
"Stay firm men," insisted Connor. Eva grabbed his arm and said over his shoulder, "Connor.......look up ahead." When Connor looked he saw three figures that seemed to be in the bodies of women, with long stranded hair as black as pitch, skin as pale as the moon on a cold night, and when their hair wasn't covering their faces, evil dark expressions were on their faces. The men all saw them and became frightened. Mr. Faulkner said, "Let's kill them lad!" Connor stopped Faulkner from charging and said, "No. Stop. I want to see what they want first Mr. Faulkner."
Then the witches stepped forward to the group. They wore tattered long black gowns, which matched their hair. They walked awkwardly. One pointed a finger at Connor and said, "You! Assassin! We know who and what you are. We have sensed you coming to our sacred island. You bear the spot of death on your soul. You and your friends are cursed beyond measure. Beware, you Assassin. You cross into dangerous territory." Connor said back, "Who are you?" Another witch said, "We are the three sisters of this place. We've been here for years and have been sold to the devil himself."
They got closer. The men raised their rifles. "You can't kill us, you pirates. You seek for the Ghost's Treasure," said the third.
Connor asked, "Where is it? Tell me, witch, or I will burn this place to the ground!" Connor raised his Mayan sword. The sisters laughed amongst themselves. "You know not of what you say, you whelp. We cast out the native Indians of this place. The Wampanoag have fled this island, and the Naskapi don't come down from the north. Our spells and dark friends have made sure of that. No medicine man or shaman could stop us. Now you will die."
Connor pulled out one of his flintlock pistols and shot the witch in the head. Then two more men shot the last two witches. However, the witches did not fall to the ground. It was as if the weren't affected at all by the shots. The one witch, bleeding from her forehead said, "You see? You can't kill us." Then all of the men aimed their musket rifles and shot the witches. Then they fell to the ground. Connor unleashed his hidden blade and went over the first witch. Kneeling down, he demanded, "Where is the ghost, witch?" She started to laugh evilly and said, "Here." He looked to the left. A dark cloaked figure with a lumberjack axe in his hand and stood a good distance away from them. The witch continued to moan. Connor took his hidden blade and stabbed her in the neck. She was killed instantly. Then Connor stood up, with his sword in his hand. The phantom tossed a smoke bomb at Connor which exploded in front of him. Connor looked around but only saw blurriness. His Eagle Vision was not well either now that he was dizzy.
Connor shook his head a bit. Eva rushed to him and said, "We've killed the witches. Where is the Ghost?" Connor said, "I do not know. It would be best if we searched this place for the treasure." So the group gathered themselves into small groups and spread out. Connor, Eva, and Mr. Faulkner went together. The air felt cold to Connor. The trees were dark and dead with no leaves. Sticks crumpled under their feet. Mr. Faulkner reloaded his flintlock pistol in the process. Connor looked around and from a distance, at the base of a tree trunk, an old sea chest rested, unopened.
They rushed to it as Faulkner called the men together. As the men gathered, Connor took out his lock pick and began to pry at the lock. Then the lock finally broke and Connor proceeded to open the chest. In it were pieces of eight. The men starred at the gold doubloons, and Connor ordered, "Send the chest back to the ship." One group came forward and took up the chest and rushed to the Aquila but as the rest of the men were turning to leave, they heard a noise. Connor climbed up a tree to get a view of anything moving. In the distance he saw an old house. It looked dark and ghastly. It was truly a wretched site. Coming back down Connor said to them, "There is an old house up ahead. I wish to go and search it." The men grumbled. "I must not go alone," persisted Connor. Mr. Faulkner stepped forward and said, "I will go with you, Captain." Connor nodded. Eva came to him and said, "Let me come too, Connor." "I need you to stay with Franklin and the crew. Take charge while I am gone, please," said Connor with a kiss on her hand. Then him and Faulkner set out into the inlet's woods to the old dark house.
