1781- The mountains of Kentucky were probably the most beautiful structures of landscape that the three Assassins had ever seen. It was no small wonder why the Templars and other people wanted control of such places. Connor looked around and thought to himself, "This is a beautiful territory. Why would the Ghost want to bury his treasure here though? Perhaps I should investigate this further as we go." So Connor continued to walk along the trail that he was on. Birds were heard in the air and the sun was towards the west.
"We are near the location, my friends," piped up Israel, who pulled his hood over his head. "Good," said Eva, "I don't want to have to walk to much farther just to obtain a chest of hardly anything." "Who knows," said Israel, "Perhaps we will come out rich and we could build a naval fleet for the Brotherhood." Eva laughed at the thought. Israel looked behind as Connor tagged along and said, "Hey Kenway. You doing alright back there? You seem awfully quiet." Connor looked at Israel and replied, "I feel fine. I am thinking." Israel nodded.
Eva looked ahead through a clearing and saw the wall of a cliff ahead of them. "Look here, "she said, "It's the mountain that has the treasure on the top." Israel looked up the cliff and said, "A bit high to climb, don't you think. I suggest we go around and make it easier on ourselves." "Oh come on, " complained Eva, "It's just a cliff. You climb them all the time." Connor said to her, "But we never climb them that high without easier maneuvers. That climb would surely cause us to loose grip and fall down to our deaths. There is no way to fully scale that height. We should do as Israel suggested and first go around. Then when we are higher, we can climb the cliff." Eva shrugged.
So they walked around the slope and finally were high enough above the trees. Eva jumped up onto the rocky cliff which provided perfect holds to grab onto. Connor followed and then came Israel. They were really high now. "You see," said Connor, "It is a lot easier when you are over half way." Israel said below him, "I do not wish to talk about it now, Kenway. We really high up, and I am not liking it." Connor chuckled a bit but he understood what Israel was going through. They were very high up. Then, Eva reached the top. She said, "Hold on, guys! I'll swing a rope down to you." "A rope?" asked Israel, "Where did she get a rope? Did you see her with a rope, Connor?" Then a rope came down to them. Israel was amazed. The two Assassins grabbed onto the rope and pulled themselves up to the top.
They came up and pulled in the rope as well. Eva said to them, "Well that was fun. Where is this treasure you speak of, then?" Connor remembered what the map said and quoted, "To those who are victorious, the treasure awaits. It should be buried.....right in front of us on the Red Blood ground." A stain of dried blood colored the grass red in front of them. "Here!" exclaimed Connor. Then, he took his foot and began to kick up the red grass. The other Assassins joined in. Then, they started to dig with their hands until they saw an object. That object appeared to be a chest. Israel laughed at the sight. Then they began to lift it out of the ground. "It's heavy," said Eva. They lifted it out and saw that it was locked. Connor took his lock pick and broke the lock open. Then, he opened up the chest. They couldn't believe their eyes. It was full of gold and items of value and full of gems. Israel began to celebrate.
Connor and Eva began to loot it and Israel joined in. Pirate rings and necklaces were distributed and Israel filled his bags and pockets with riches. Once the chest was looted, the Assassins managed to come back down the mountain. They were getting closer to finding the Ghost. But then, the sun began to set and they had to get back to the nearest town which would be over the mountain on the other side.
It did not take too long before the Assassins came to the nearest town in the Virginia Territory. Connor still had the feathers in his pocket and kept them hidden. He looked around intensely at his surroundings to see if there was a flower store. Then, he spotted one. But before he could move towards it, Eva grabbed his shoulder and said, "Hey, Connor. Do you think that we should go to a place and get something to eat or do you think we should go to the nearest inn and purchase some rooms to stay?" Connor replied, "It would be a good idea to find an inn to stay at." She said, "Okay. I'll go find Israel." Now was Connor's chance.
He ran over to the flower store and went in. A man was standing at the purchasing desk and said, "Hey. You aren't a settler. You are one of them Indians." "Please, sir," said Connor in a calm voice, "I have money. I would like to purchase a dozen roses from you. It is for a girl." The man smiled and said, "Hmmm. Well then, be most welcome. Buy any set of roses that you would like." So Connor looked around. He thought in his head, "This will be her real treasure. She needs something beautiful. Red ones. I need to buy red roses." So he searched around. He finally spotted a dozen red roses and then took them. He went over to the man at the desk and said, "I shall buy these, please." The man replied, "That'll £30 pounds." Connor set the money down on the counter and the man took it. "Well," said the man, "For a moment there, I thought you might not have had the money. Hahaha. You know, you Indians don't need actual money." Connor just said, "Thank you," and left with the flowers.
He went outside and saw the inn that he was to stay at. He looked the opposite direction and saw Eva at a fur trading post. If he was quick enough, he could run to the inn without her noticing him and the flowers. So he ran as fast as he could to the inn and reached for the door. He opened it and went inside breathing heavily. Israel saw him with the flowers and motioned for him. "Come, Connor. I'll take you to your room. Hide the flowers and give them to her later." So Connor quickly went with Israel to his room and hid the flowers behind his bed. This was going to be an interesting arrangement.
