What up y'all! 😄 How was the last chapter? Interesting? You tell me. This chapter gets a little bit deeper. 😁 Ok guys, enjoy the action! 👻💀
1780-It was sunset when they arrived at the farm. A huge wheat field is what they rode through. The fog started picking up. They passed a scarecrow that was a bit deteriorated and a collection of crows perched on its arms. Connor tried to stay focused while riding. An old house was in view as they rode on through the field of wheat. "Connor,"said Eva. Connor looked at her. "Are you alright?"
Curiously, Connor replied, "Yes. Shouldn't I be?" She said,"Well, I was just making sure that you weren't scared of this whole assignment. With the Templars and mysterious murders." But then, at the house, a light, the only light on from inside, was turned out. They rode closer to the house. Connor and Eva got off on foot and walked the rest of the way to the front of the house. Connor knocked on the door and waited. A voice from inside shouted, "What? Who is it now?" Then the door opened and an old man stood looking at them. When he saw the native, he became defensive. "Who are you?" he asked with a bit of fright.
"No one who will cause you harm. My name is Connor Kenway."
"And I'm Eva."
The old man looked confused. Connor continued, "We are with the Assassin Brotherhood and are wondering if you could tell us anything you may know of strange mysterious occurrences happening around town." The old man looked around them and then said, "Come inside, please." The two came in and he sat them by the fire place and prepared some cups of coffee for them. The farmer also looked like a frontiersman by the looks of his home. He sat in front of them and said, "Yes. I know of the strange things that are going on. I first noticed when some of my livestock were found slaughtered. I suspected wolves were the reason but the natives usually drive them away for the hunt this time of year."
"What next?" Connor asked with eagerness. The old man continued,"I don't know precisely, but I have been hearing strange sounds and seeing strange figures at night. I'll go out to inspect and won't find anything, but the remains of some debris and dead livestock. If you ask me, I fear that something evil is coming near, and soon." Eva sipped the coffee and then said,"What was the last figure you saw?" The old man scratched his chin and said, "A tall dark cloaked figure with an axe in his right hand was standing near the barn. I saw him through my window and he seemed to turn in my direction. That was the scary part. He didn't move. Occasionally, I'll hear footsteps in my house at night and whispers. I tell ya. It scares the heck out of me."
Connor said,"Can you tell us where we may discover more clues about these hauntings?" Stevenson said,"Go to a man named Watson. He is a friend of mine and an Assassin I believe. He has been searching the entire Frontier for this ghostly killer so that he may kill him. You, yourself must also be careful. You just might get yourself killed." Connor stood up with Eva and thanked Stevenson and left. Connor knew where he would find Watson. He would search the old lighthouse.
