1781- The Aquila was ready to set sail. Connor dressed up in his traditional Mohawk clothes because he wanted to feel his culture surround him as he sailed. The feathers on his wolf hood blew in the salty wind and the sails were unfurled. The Aquila was sailing now and Connor held the wheel. Israel was tying the sailing ropes down and securing them, while Eva went over the other side of the ship and pulled in the docking ropes. The day seemed good.
A few hours later, Connor was still at the wheel when Faulkner said to him, "Look, lad! A British vessels are coming toward us!" Connor watched and saw five ships approach from afar. One was a Man O' War vessel, probably off to reclaim lost shipping routes from the Patriots, another was a British Frigate, the third was a Brig, along with another Brig, and the last one was a schooner. Connor looked through his telescope and saw that the British ships had lifted their flags to show that they were apart of the Royal Navy and that they were wanting to fight. At this, Connor shouted, "Prepare for battle! Bring out the cannons and get the flame-shot ready! Catch the wind! Full sail!" Then, the crew of the Aquila prepared for battle. Cannons were loaded and weapons were passed. Ammunition was filled and grappling hooks were distributed. The Aquila sailed in between the British Frigate and Brig and Connor shouted, "Fire on both sides!" So the Aquila fired her guns, and the other ships took on the damage. Then, they fired back. "Brace!"shouted Connor and the crew braced as the other ships fired. Cannonballs hit the Aquila and gave it some damage. "Fire the flame-shot on both sides!"ordered Connor. Then, the cannons were fired. The Brig and the Frigate began to burn and explode in various places and then they sunk. The other Brig came and rammed the side of the Aquila and shook everyone on it. "Fire!"shouted Connor. Then, the cannons fired upon the Bring and completely destroyed it's bow front side and made gashes in it, causing it to take in water and sink. The British crew didn't stand a chance.
Then, the British schooner fired a jumble of cannons at the Aquila. The cannons ripped through some of parts of the ship, including the railings, decks, and a top cannon. A few crew members died from the blast of cannonballs. Then, Connor shouted, "Fire!" The cannons fired and the schooner immediately exploded as it sunk into the ocean. Eva went over to Connor and said, "Look out!" Connor turned behind him to see the British Man O' War coming right for them. It bumped into the stern of the Aquila causing it to move forward. The whole ship shook. Connor grabbed hold of the wheel, and turned the Aquila hard to the right, parallel with the warship. Then, Connor shouted as loud as he could, "Fire the mortars!" Then, the mortars were shot and they rained upon the warship. Parts of it caught on fire. But then, the Man O' War fired flame-shot back at them, three times over, and it also fired its mortars which rained upon the Aquila.
Connor shouted, "Brace!" Everyone braced. The Aquila was a bit on fire because of that. But the Man O' War was also on fire. "Fire everything!" commanded the Assassin. In that moment, the Aquila fired chain-shot, flame-shot, grape-shot which dug into the warship badly, and regular cannonballs. Also, the swivel cannons were being used. And as if that wasn't enough, the mortars were shot off as well and they rained upon the warship. The Man O' War was on fire. The front mast broke off and fell to the side of the ship. And the powder kegs exploded on the warship. Many British officers died.
"Should we board her, Captain?" asked Mr. Faulkner. "Yes," replied Connor, who pulled out his tomahawk. Men threw grappling hooks and began pulling the ships together. Then, Connor jumped over the side of the ship and shot out of his pistols, immediately killing to British soldiers. More of Connor's crew came over. Gunshots were heard all around and people died. Israel jumped over and, like a demon, shot a soldier in the face with his hunting rifle, while in the air still. Eva jumped over and fought closer by Connor and shot three soldiers down. Then, she ran over to an officer and stabbed him in the throat with her hidden blade. "Indians!"shouted one of the soldiers. "Patriot pirates," shouted another. Then, someone smacked Connor hard across the face. Connor fell back and shook his head. A man, dressed in British captain clothes with a red coat and a black hat stood over Connor. He drew his sword and said, "Get up you Redskin! I know you. You're that infamous Indian Assassin who everyone is talking about. The aid of Washington and his Patriot Army. Let's see how much help you are to them after I spill your guts across the deck."
Connor jumped back to his feet, quickly dodging the captain's sword and drawing his tomahawk. "A tomahawk?"asked the British captain, "Well, this will be an interesting fight, now won't it. Sword verses tomahawk then. Hahahaha! You try too hard, sir, to be like the rest of the natives. I can tell that you are a bit European. It is your eyes nose and jaw. You are an outcast." Then, the British captain attacked Connor with his sword. Connor parried as skillfully as he could with his tomahawk, but it wasn't easy. Connor parried one last blow from the sword, ignited his left hidden blade, and slacked across the captain's torso. "There," said Connor, bobbing and weaving around, "Not so enjoyable when you experience it, is it, sir?"
The captain looked at Connor angrily and pulled out his pistol to shoot Connor. With a quick reflex, the Assassin used his hidden blade to stab into the captain's pistol hand wrist, and then, used his tomahawk to slice into his side. Then, Connor backed up. The captain bled from his torso, side, and wrist. The blood from his side was darker because more of it was coming out of him there. But the captain gathered strength to raise his pistol and pull the trigger on Connor. It hit Connor in the chest but it didn't go deep. In fact, the Assassin, through much pain, was able to pull the bullet out. Connor, after doing that quickly walked right to the British captain, and took his tomahawk, and sliced the captain across his body, knocking him back onto the deck of the ship. Connor saw the captain's right hand and on his ring finger, he wore a Templar ring. Then, the Assassin raised his tomahawk, and chopped down upon the captain's arm. The captain screamed in agony.
"Where is the Ghost, you Templar? Where is the 'Old Sea Captain' residing? Is he in Haiti? Tell me, or I shall, indeed, rip off your ring finger!" The captain breathed heavily. "I won't talk, ........Assassin." Connor clenched his teeth, and with his tomahawk, literally chopped off the Templar's finger with the ring. The captain screamed in such gruesome agony. "Tell me!" shout Connor, without any sense of mercy. The captain replied, "Haiti! He's in Haiti! He wants another Assassin named Captain Kenway! He sent us to hunt him down! Oh God! God! Does God have no sympathy? We were looking for Captain Connor Kenway and his pirates!" Connor leaned down closer to the captain's face and quietly replied, "I congratulate you, then, Captain. Your hunting was a success. The man you see is the man you were trying to kill. I am Connor Kenway." Then, the Assassin took his hidden blade and stabbed the captain in his throat. Then, he died right then and there.
The British who remained were taken prisoner, and Connor commanded that the British vessel was to be looted and emptied of it's resources before it caught on fire and sunk. So his crew hurried and tried to collect as much loot as possible. Then, they hopped back onto the Aquila and sailed for Haiti.
